Where is the revenue stream is coming from? Its not like there are the only game in town in the cloud computer arena (aws, google cloud), console gaming, office suite (google docs, libreoffice, etc.), desktop gaming (steam), servers (linux), etc. I guess I'm in a bubble since I haven't used MS products in more than a decade.
But, is this still a reliable revenue stream? There are now legitimate alternatives to MS Office. And I work for a Fortune 150 company where the majority of employees use mac laptops. Obviously not all Fortune 500 companies are so mac heavy, but I have to wonder how long MS will be able to ride the desktop windows horse (especially now that desktop and laptop computers are not replaced as often and many people get by with a phone and tablet that aren't running Windows).
> "Microsoft's continued enterprise strength as evidence that the company's position remains strong"
Is this still true? I work for a Fortune 150 company and the vast majority of the employees have Macs. We may be a bubble, but it is a bubble of 10,000+ people. Now that there are genuine alternatives to Office, Windows phone is dead, Edge and IE are no longer dominant browsers, Azure is not the only cloud platform in town by a long shot, xbox is not the only game system, far more servers use linux than a Windows OS, and, at least where I work, the majority of people don't use Windows desktop, I'm really confused about the MS revenue stream.
Wait, you use your phone to make calls? How... quaint. Seriously, the ability to make calls from my phone could be dropped and I wouldn't even miss it.
I turned 18 around 1990, so you are asking when did I watch movies produced in the 80s. Well, I watched those movies in the 80s (and the 70s - the first movie I ever saw was Star Wars at a drive-in the second day after it came out). But it's not like I need to watch Back to Future or any other 70s/80s movies today. I've already seen those movies. So far no movie has been good enough that it is worth my time to watch it more than once.
The only thing we ever have the urge to watch are new releases. I never ever watch a movie a second time, so the fact that they eventually leave the redbox system doesn't matter to me.
We don't subscribe to Netflix DVD, we get all of our DVD rentals from RedBox. The reason is simple. We simply don't watch enough to make it economical to get a subscription. We watch 1, 2 at the most, movies per month. That is about $3 from redbox. Often times we will get a coupon or deal from redbox, probably trying to encourage us to use them more often, that drops the price to $0. We have dozens of redbox kiosks around our house so it has never been a pain having to go to the kiosk to get a movie when the urge to watch something strikes.
I wonder about this too. I've heard the same thing, but I use a personal wiki (Trunk Notes which is amazing) that has a Lua scripting engine built into it so that you can script your wiki pages. Is that different than the FooScript mentioned above?
Except, under the hood every browser on iOS is Safari. That is, every browser must use Safari's rendering and javascript engines. Edge will just be a different interface on top of the same browser. So MS-Office can't run any faster on Edge versus Safari since Edge is Safari (with a different name and interface) on iOS.
My phone isn't a phone, it's a camera. I take thousands of pictures and videos on it every month (which is my my current media storage space is approaching 2 terabytes). I want the best camera I can buy to carry around with me. And by carry around, I mean small enough to fit into my jeans pocket. Anything thicker than 3/8" is too big. Of course my camera can do other things like text and surf the www, but those are just side benefits to it's true purpose.
There are no subscriptions I'm willing to pay for, other than water, gas, electricity, garbage and Internet. If I'm not willing to subscribe to newspapers, cable TV, streaming TV/movies, magazines, etc. I'm definitely not going to consider subscribing to your online site. I really hope google makes it possible for you to be hidden from me.
Depends on your definition of serious. Cardhaus.com comes to mind. I think of it as a serious site since the only site I've spent more money on is Amazon.com.
I wish I had points to mod you up.

> "Windows is the go-to platform for gaming on computer"
Is this still true with Steam? In my experience Steam has fixed the problem of games working best on Windows.

Page Layout people use tools like InDesign.

I agree. "Phone" is a misnomer for my pocket computer.
Not knowing anything about the movie, I'm guessing it has something to do with someone running with a blade in the future.

Yeah, I'm not really a film buff. I'll watch new releases if they catch me eye, but I don't have any interest in watching old movies.

Exactly. What's the point of using any other browser in iOS?

Man, what if they did find that the shooter was a rabid anti-country music fanatic.
Someone will need to go around to reload the guns. That will provide lots more jobs right there!
I have heard that CARBs are bad for you.
