But why Linux Mint? I feel that Debian is more feature rich, easier to use, more powerful, better package support, and a better default layout. In fact I can't think of a single way in which Linux Mint is even on par with Debian.
I feel that they shouldn't limit the person to just using one distro or OS that they decide to shove down my throat. They should be open about it and allow me to install whatever OS i want onto it. If they want to ship it with their own OS, fine. As long as I can do whatever I want with it that I see fit. There isn't "one perfect" OS for everyone.
You realize that there is the Archos 101 internet tablet that is $299, right? Granted that is for the 8GB model, but you get the ability to use microSD cards with it, something you can't do on the iPad.
If you are afraid of Google collecting information from you by using Chrome or Chromium you can always use SRware Iron which is basically the same thing, just without tracking stuff.
Bing isn't really copying Google 100% on everything. They use Google as a reference. Bing copies Google on searches that they have no results for currently along with adding some of their own stuff to it as they crawl the web.
It wouldn't be easy or cheap to install more RAM into those devices. They don't use socketed RAM like your laptop or desktop does. They use a SoC which contains (almost) the entire system, on a chip. By the time you are done you would have spent more money than what a new one would cost you.
That begs an interesting question for the bio majors here: What are the relative merits of dopamine and adrenaline? Can they even be compared, or is it apple and oranges?
Next facebook will want everyone's credit card number, so you easily log in to other sites to buy stuff with your facebook. Can you say facebook's version of paypal?
ClamAV for Windows 3.0 would be correct if it were for that specific version of Windows, but it is referring to the version of ClamAV which runs on an unspecified version of Windows.
First its qt, then its SCSI! :)

A real Unix admin wouldn't be posting as AC.
But does it install a rootkit on your computer when you plug it in?
Thats exactly what they were saying before the typewriter and keyboard!
Or even Unstable or Testing :)
Well, there is already an aPad
Citation?

I read this a week or so ago in Wired Magazine. /. really needs to get better about getting articles out when they happen...

Why both with firewalls when you can just use NAT? Its more secure anyway..
Amazon seems to handle "Big DDoS attack"s rather well. They had one all throughout December, plus the smaller one done by "Anonymous" .

Well, nothing counts as a uniform, doesn't it?
Do you only use your internet connection for netflix?
And, $50/month is a bit high for internet connection in my area... An "average" DSL connection is about $20/month here, and I'm in the USA!

Well, its actually rather easy to compare apples and oranges with each other.
Oh, and this claims that it has a maximum power usage of 5W http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=180&Itemid=63&limit=1&limitstart=1
I'm not too familiar with the performance of the VIA chips , but some of their Nano processors claim to have a 100mW idle power usage

Exactly! Thats why I like being safe in my mom's basement playing D&D... Although I sometimes get cut by the pewter figurines and the d 20s....
And to think, its barely even had the chance to be slashdotted!
Oh that makes more sense... People need to learn to use grouping parenthesis more often in their writing/typing :)
