  3. Deaths Per Megawatt on Could the US Phase Out Nuclear Power? · · Score: 1

Look at deaths/megawatt hour. Nuclear is much lower than coal, gas/oil, hydro, and wind. (Forget about solar). Sure nuclear makes the news more often, but it's because it's scarier. Just as the e. coli outbreak is terrifying people but less than 20 have died from it.

Forget the source on the deaths/megawatt, will look for it now.

Free real time quotes are not new. What is new is a major player doing it, and publicizing it well. I remember there was a good free real-time quotes (even live listings of trades) in the early 2000s. I believe it may have been stockquotes.com? (Now a parked domain). If I remember correctly, they simply ran out of funding.

Anyway, glad to see a free real-time quotes provider that may stick around a while!

Hey, I have a great idea, let's repeat all our mistakes on this planet on every other one we visit! First, what we do is we start right back up on the next planet with this idea of parceling land out to people as if they weren't all interconnected by being on the same planet.

When you get to the calculus level, check out "How To Ace Calculus". It has a lame sounding name, but is a fantastic book that keeps everything in the real world vocabulary. Now, I did use this book alongside a course in real life, but I am a very independent learner and would have gotten at best a C otherwise.

P.S. One of my favorite parts is how the authors will say stuff like "your teacher really means this, but the other way makes them sound more important" :-)

If you look at the Constitution/Bill of Rights, right to privacy is never explicitly stated. (Though I wish it was; just saying). The Supreme Court has said priacy is included in "basic human rights", which is mentioned http://www.usconstitution.net/constnot.html#privac y - but again, I guess that could be easily reversed since privacy is not explicit.

    I agree with you.

I used OpenOffice for a while, and I really really tried to use it as my main editor. But it lacks so much, so long to go. People say to me, "Well hey, it's hundreds of dollars cheaper...". Yeah, but I lose thousands if I can't effectively share editable documents with other people (who are usually using MS Office. Usually = 95%+).

A few months ago, I saw a presentation by an owner of an open source solutions company. He had made a presentation in OpenOffice - but converted it to a PDF for the actual presentation. Why? He was worried it wouldn't work on the presentation computer...

Check out places like Costco. I use Refresh rewetting drops, which come in large eye drop bottle (cumbersome to keep in your pocket, though would be fine in a purse), or a small bottle (fits nicely in pocket).

Anyways, I started buying large packs of the large bottles at Costco for a huge discount (probably 50-60% cheaper than a pharmacy). I use them to then fill up a small bottle I have.

Works pretty well for me, saves a lot of money, and still have the convenience of a little dropper bottle.
