Their god isn't the problem, it's the fanatical followers who feel that despite worshiping a peaceful, loving god they can still be violent and hateful.
If 99% of the people want to discriminate against others, that's not legal. If 99% of the people want to kill and rape whoever they want, that's not legal.
Something is legal (or not) in order to protect the rights of others, not because a lot of people want it.
Speaking as an underpaid person who can't afford every new system out there, I think I'll stick with PC ports. Most stuff eventually makes it there anyway.
This begs the question why are we sending one expensive probe at a time, when we could be sending many, many less expensive probes. Even with the law of averages, we should have enough successes to do just as well and find out just as much.
I've found that on a lot of those multi-seasonal science fiction shows, not catching it from the beginning will leave you thinking it's weak. At this point in the series, almost all of the character interaction is based on what's happened in previous episodes. Someone will make a comment, and a meaningful look will be exchanged. If you've seen it from the beginning, you know exactly what they're thinking.
That reasoning holds if you're working with pictures of live actors/people. But what about someone who draws a picture of a naked 13-year old only using their imagination?
Who should this artist have asked for consent? What child has his/her legal rights violated? --------------------------------------- ---
Yeah, they're so lousy, they can't even come up with a web site that anyone actually uses.:p And what's wrong with using what you know? If the code _works_ and it works just fine, why write it in a "more complicated" language? Did I mention that the code works?
But you don't get to control which songs you hear snippets from. They'll give you the best off the album. Napster allows you to demo the good and the bad. I don't know how many times I've bought an album b/c the song that got radio play was great, but every other song sucked. They aren't going to stream the sucky songs to you on the web.

If you use Wine, it runs just fine.

At least, that's the theory...
If an alien civilization then rebroadcast the same signal back to us, what kind of legal action would you expect in response?

I think the question should be: Is he serious???

That sounds like a queue. Wait, they patented a data structure? What's next, someone going to patent the stack?

Scary thing is, I could see this one actually being done.
