Apple has been changing and is getting worse about paying attention to those details. They are more about monetizing the users now. Ever since they bought Beats the Music app on the iDevices has gone downhill in order to get you to stream music.
If you just want to listen to only the music that you have on your phone you lose a bit of screen with a banner that's present when you are moving through the lists telling you that you are only looking at downloaded music. They could show that at the top of the list for confused users and have it scroll up but it's always there. And I have to go into that option every time the app starts. Previously it used to be an option in the preferences. They want you to forget about going into the downloaded music and use the iCloud and streaming features. There are other usability issues I have with their audio players that require you to take many more steps in order to do the same thing (change the volume, turn off repeat, etc) than before.
My user name may be fan, though I was never the kind to wait hours in a line at launch, but now I'm using their products just because they are the best of the bunch for me. If something better came along I would gladly switch. I used to be a Linux system administrator and I liked coming home to something that just worked. It's not as nice as it once was because instead of fixing things Apple keeps going after new, shiny things. They really need someone to bring them back on focus instead of having a businessman in charge.
Talk about crap company. Are they even supporting that version 25 years later and can the browser run on todays operating systems? I think not. You got ripped off.
Meanwhile the Republicans are trying to rip out a lot of protections to prevent the financial sector from harming itself due to it's own greed. The world recently saw what that does with the GFC when both parties were relaxing the rules (starting with Clinton). It's just the Republicans are trying to do it all at once and skipping the whole waiting a couple of generations to forget how bad things were step.
I missed the part where Google or GoDaddy went to court to have this site ruled objectionable before removing the DNS records. The only court that has been consulted is the court of public opinion and that's definitely not the one you want to be making the decisions from.
Connecting to the vendor's server is the whole point of the lock. That's how I can send you a virtual key that you can put on your phone. When you get near the lock you transfer it to the lock via BlueTooth. The lock needs to know about the key so there are two options. Either the lock can ask the vendor to validate the key or the vendor has sent a list of keys along with a set of restrictions (times, dates, days of week, etc) to the lock.
Yes you could do it yourself but then you would need to have your own server or to go and be physically present to make the changes. For the average person it's not a hassle to be present the article is about Airbnb hosts and it's inconvenient if they have more than one property or they want to make changes while there guests are there (say they lost their phone).
The other thing that the lock companies say is an advantage is that you can unlock the door if needed and you are away from home. For example a friend could drop by some stuff when it was convenient for them, give you a call to say they had arrived, and you could unlock the door for them, and lock it again when they had finished.
I don't have one of the locks myself. Personally I would like one without the connectivity because I don't trust these companies to keep from being hacked. Or if they close down your lock is useless, except for possibly the current configuration (depending on how things work).
Why does it have to be self driving cars? There is at least one car company, Tesla, doing over the air software updates now and it has the possibility to brick your car any time. Why you "buy" your car you agree for these to happen without your knowledge.
Imagine the damage done to Tesla if they did an over the air update that did brick their cars. In a way I would like to see it, not because I hate Tesla, but it would bring attention to the masses. A door lock isn't going to do it. And it would be better for this to happen early on and hopefully allow us to gain some control back before the self driving cars arrive. Let me delay the updates for a day because I have an important meeting tomorrow. Most people have lost control of when their computer updates.
Tell that to soldiers going out an a couple of days patrol. Cans are not as light as you think they are.
They also occupy a lot of extra space due to their shape. You can pack plastic bags right together with little space between them but there will always be lots of empty space between cans. When I'm bringing home shopping it's a lot easier bringing stuff that's packed in boxes because I'm able to fit more in my backpack and into bags. (And the packaging is lighter too. A tetra pack of soup is lighter than a can of soup, at least it feels that way.)
Some of the other packaging can be closed again. Once you open a can, it's open. And for a lot of cans you need to have a tool to open it. It was a pain when my can opener broke. But sometimes that doesn't work either because you want the top on but just a hole in the top to pour from so that's another tool. People with arthritis find cans hard to open.
I do like the recyclability of cans and with the alternatives were better at it. And cans are the best solution for some tasks so I wouldn't want them replaced for everything. But they aren't the best solution for everything.
I liked their ergonomic keyboards and mice when they came out and used them for a while. Then I just got away from using them and forgot about them altogether. About the thing that they brought out that I tried and actually liked.
What's odd? They bought the tech from Pakistan and are just revising it. Everything they are doing has already been done before. They aren't doing anything groundbreaking. It's all engineering work and not research science.
I was just pointing out that there was no need to carry H2 gas around on every car and changing the whole infrastructure wasn't required like the person I was originally responding to assumed. Just like I wouldn't assume that a Li battery is the most efficient or cost effective storage in a large scale grid storage system. I haven't looked it up. Elon Musk has proposed using Li batteries but then he would as he is in the business of selling Li batteries.
I've seen a lot of those in the past couple of months. It's some new seller come in with a really low price. I don't know why Amazon allows these sellers on the system. I've had one item that hasn't shown up but it wasn't from someone selling at an obviously scam price. I got my money back no problems from Amazon.
Now I won't buy anything from Amazon that isn't from them or fulfilled by them meaning that they have item in their warehouse. The great thing about buying something from another seller but fulfilled by Amazon is that they ship it out right away. I always save up enough for the free shipping and I don't have prime but whenever there's an item from another seller it's shipped out within 24 hours and if the timing is right I can have the delivery the next day.
Except in Canada where Sears has been making a series of PR mistakes and turning it into a fast, inevitable death spiral instead.
Things like closing a bunch of stores, not giving the employees any severance, and announcing a big retention bonus for the upper management that got them into the troubles in the first place. The the same geniuses decided to close down a couple franchise stores in rural towns (different word for it), all but one of whom were making a profit despite supply problems from corporate, and breaking the contract by not giving them the contracted reimbursement for breaking the contract.
I use CityMaps2Go by Ulmon Pro which allows me to download city maps and use them offline. I'm in the same situation in that I have a data plan with a small amount of data. I only use the app if I go somewhere new and need to be somewhere. The only thing to be careful with the application is that if it gets updated you sometimes have to download your maps again. It happened to me once and I had to find a place with free Wi-Fi to get my map because I didn't check before I left.
Maybe you could find a few buck in the massive defence budget that aren't being spent wisely and redirect to helping them. Or not buy an F-35 or not build one of those new ships. But then you would have to use an electron microscope to find a heart cell in any of your leaders to pry any money away to spend money on actually helping someone in need in the first place.
That information already exists though a lot of it is on paper. There are a few exceptions where some people didn't log something or logged it wrong which is why on occasion you hear about some construction job digging through a cable. But the reason why it isn't more often is because cities already know where almost everything is. The only thing that can be done is to computerize it, which is still a huge task.
Or the hydrogen could be used to generate electricity for the grid to charge electric cars to which we are moving to. So if someone wants to charge their car at night the electricity that was generated during the day could have been converted to H2 gas, stored until needed, and then a plant somewhere on the grid could use the H2 gas to produce electricity and send it onto the grid.
No need to haul H2 gas everywhere or for cars to carry it. A plant would take the excess electricity off the grid to convert water to H2 and O2 gases. If the captured both then they could use both to reverse the process and have water as the byproduct. If they were smart they would capture the water to reuse it the next time there was surplus electricity.
Or committed a bigger crime. Maybe it's not finance but just the magnitude of their crimes that lets them get away with it.
Of course it could just be the whole German company thing. If it was Ford or GM would the US government really be going after the execs with as much energy?
It used to be called STRIP and they have been around since Palm was popular. It doesn't sync to their servers. If you want to sync between devices you log into Dropbox or Google Drive or you can sync over Wi-Fi from the mobile device to the desktop app. It stores the passwords in an strongly encrypted file on your account.
The application itself could use polish but it is very stable and it does everything that I need. It lets you add custom fields. The developers are quick to respond to queries. It's stable, quick, easy to use, and secure.

Don't worry about teleportation. Just say that you are using the Cloud to deliver water autonomously.

What, it stayed locked and kept people out. Some people are never happy.

Or was it your alcohol blood level?
If it's fragile, broken, and not even a good hardware experience for the price paid why do you say that you love it?

My favourites are when the street you are on turns off and if you go straight you are on a different road.

Are you saying that your President lied about why the US invaded Iraq and that it wasn't WMDs? I'm shocked, just shocked! /s
Until I can order some from Amazon and they are delivered to me then it's hype.
