We have standardized bins for compost items (food waste, cat litter, etc) and when they are aren't very full the person empties it into the truck themselves. When it's heavy they use the lifter at the back of the truck. While the lifter is quick it's quicker still for them to dump it themselves.
They are probably paid so much for doing the route or at least a certain minimum number of hours and when they are done their route they can go. I know that the people that deliver mail to the community mailboxes in Canada are paid for 7.5 hours a day no matter how long it actually takes them to do their route. Nice in the summer when mail volume is low. Sucks in December when they are pulling 14-16 hour days, six days a week. I've even seen them deliver parcels on Sundays just so that Monday was a tolerable 14 hour day.
Well, what would you do to GM then who only paid $900M to settle the ignition switch case which had caused at least 124 people to be killed? Yes, faking an emission test should be dealt with much more severely.
Oh, have they actually admitted how much the F-35s are going to cost now? That's a huge mistake. It's the wrong plane but they're only buying it under the assumption that we need to in order to keep our suppliers involved.
As for the ships, the haven't even started working on them yet while the costs go up and the number of ships to be delivered keep going down. All in the name to have a shipbuilding industry in Canada. We can't because we don't build enough in order to do it efficiently. We should have designed the ships, outsourced the basic construction to South Korea, and then sailed the ships to Canada to install the high value made electronics, weapons, etc. Try to have most of the high value stuff made in Canada and we could export that. Yes, it sucks for the shipbuilders but one of the primary reasons for the cost overruns is that they are having to start up everything from scratch. Once the ships are built they are going to have to shut everything down due to lack of work.
Unfortunately polls mean nothing and may actually hurt come election day because if people think that there's a bunch of other people that are going to vote against Harper then their vote won't really matter.
My biggest concern is that the Liberals and the NDP are going to split the vote and allow the Conservatives to capture enough seats to win the election.

I don't think that term means what you think it means. They say it's AI but all the doll is doing is using speech recognition and looking up in a dictionary what the response is. There is no learning going on. It doesn't even start to use family member names.
Doing something constructive is better than being in prison but I object to it taking away a paid job. The police have the resources to pay for someone to consult on computer crimes. The do it know. I'd prefer to see the plea bargain include so many hours teaching computers at a volunteer program for disadvantaged persons or something similar. By having the deal include the consulting for the police it means that the person currently consulting for the police has now lost that work. While probably it wasn't their only income it certainly isn't fair for them.
A project manager isn't going to modify the tools that your developers are using to make them more productive.
For example, if they spend 15 seconds to create the formatting for the comments above a function in code then create a macro in the editor. It saves 15 seconds for every function and makes your developers happier because it's drudge work they won't have to do. I know about this because there's one for Xcode.
Or if you deal with colours a lot make a library that defines many colours by name instead of having developers look up by RBG numbers all of the time. I wrote one for Xcode and also rewrote a plugin to use my library that lets you preview the colour (no matter how it's defined in code) and even change it with a colour picker.
I had a number of contracts at Nortel and only one good manager. He did exactly what you were saying and kept the stuff out of my way so that I could do my work. One time the manager of one of our client groups sent me an email asking me why it was taking so long to get his update which happened to be a graph of the number of lines in each load build. Basically something that he wanted to use to show how "productive" his team was. The email was copied to a bunch of the senior managers of the company. Within 15 or 30 minutes my manager was over at my desk saying that he would take care of it and he did. I didn't hear a thing about it again. Though I didn't get his response which is too bad. I would have like to see it.
And the thing that was holding me up from doing his task. I was creating the build environment for the CEOs pet project where he wanted to turn any computer into a switch (or router, it's been a while). Actually I was kind of looking forward to replying to that message, CC'ing the CEO, and asking the manager which project I should put my priority on.
Not every breach is for national security. A lot of espionage is for business reasons and you don't need to go after the people with very high security clearance for that.
And I don't know how the US does their security clearance. I've had two levels of clearance in Canada (the highest being Secret which can take up to six months for them to investigate) and I know that my credit history would have been part of that examination. However at no time did I have to have a drug test. Now that was a while ago so it may have changed.
But even if they check everything and do an annual drug test the situation for a person can change a lot in between the times the re-verify a security clearance. It's five years for Secret in Canada.
While I don't have a problem with plea deals in concept (they do have their issues) I have a problem with this one because it's using the person to provide services that the police department would normally have to pay for. So is this going to be a trend now? When someone with knowledge that the police would normally hire in a consultant for they just make sure that there's a clause in the plea deal saying the person has to help the police. Why stop with consultants? Instead of community service you have to do your hours working at the police department. Free janitors, laborers, etc. Think of how much of the budget it will free up.
In the 1960s the space race was a proxy for a hot war between the US and the USSR so both nations put loads of money and expertise in their programs. Plus the programs were something to rally the citizens around. Today there isn't a space race, at least nowhere near in the intensity. Most of the nations are co-operating with the ISS. There's a bit of a race towards the moon and another one for Mars but they are all out far in the future. Sending people into orbit is fairly routine so that the average person doesn't follow it anymore. It's big news when the first person of a particular country goes up or something goes wrong. Other than that manned missions to the ISS don't make the front page of the news.
So, other than a small group of enthusiasts, there is little pressure for the politicians to put a big emphasis and much funding on space exploration. For the most part they see it as a way to deliver jobs to their ridings. And because there isn't a big push on you are only getting the people that are really interested in space going into the field. Even then some people who could go into the field don't because they don't see a future in it. That was the cases for me. When I went to university was around the time there were a lot of layoffs in the aerospace sector in Canada so I went into computer science instead.
Well, the HR info would let them buy credit history and other such information so you would know who was having financial difficulties and might be able to be bought.
Medical records might contain information concerning addictions which could be used against them. Either with the addiction itself (giving them drugs or sending them on gambling vacations) or financially. If someone was having, or recently had, a major medical condition such as cancer then they might be having financial problems. There are plenty of ways to coerce someone. The more information that you have the more likely you will find that method.
I think that the only dubious part of the claim is calling Facebook like. States have been collecting information about the people involved with other states for as long as there have been states. It's only recently that they've been able to greatly expand the number of people included and the amount of information contained.
The first clue with bombs is that when the alarm goes off there's usually a boom. There wasn't a boom so when the kid said it was just a clock it probably was just a clock. You're jumping at shadows down in the US and it's starting to catch up here in Canada too thanks to Harper spreading the baseless fear.

Plus those scientists were just saying that the fisheries were being depleted. That you had to reduce the quotas in order to save them.
I mean look how big those oceans are. There's got to be lots of fish in there. You can't just fish a species so much that it's numbers collapse.
