You can't compare a 1980's diesel with the common rail and direct injection engines you have nowadays.

The reason diesel supporters claim they produce less soot is because the soot particles are smaller now--too small to be detected by current tests, so it seems like there's less soot, even though total soot output hasn't really changed.

The industry is working on this problem. Citroën for example uses a special Partical Filter on their latest models.

Strange to read that in America the only diesels available are VW Golf's.

Here in europe you can buy a Chrysler Voyager with a Diesel engine fitted. That's only logical because here in Belgium 90% of the voyager-like-cars are sold with diesel engines.

German diesels are great. But french cars have nice diesels too. Too bad you can't buy french cars in America.

    I'm a Citroën enthousiast myself.

LPG is also available in Belgium. Not only is it extremly cheap, since a few weeks you also get tax-cuts if you install an LPG-kit in your car.

BTW, almost every engine (diesle and gas) can be fitted with a LPG-installation (the size of the spare-wheel).

Seems to me that it isn't so much the formula but the leading actors that matter. I think that voyager wouldn't have been so bad with another actress for Janeway.

So whatever furmula they pick for the new series, if they stick by Scott Bakula it will suck anyway.

The link above wasn't modded down by me, and I probably wouldn't mod it down. BUT I can see why it is modded down. It IS offtopic at first sight. If there would have been an explanation as to WHY this offtopic post is justified i WOULDN't understand any modding down.

I don't mean to, but i'm probably pissing you off bigtime by writing this reply. But could you explain to me what the whole michael problem is? Just state your opinion calmly and have respect for other people. If you'd post like that I would mod it up. (But sadly i wasted all my points modding you down yesterday :-)

    2. You also always post so mysteriously. Why? I still don't really understand what all the fuss is about. And that's also really irritating. So would you please explain thoroughly what the problem is. Only if we all know what the problem is can we solve it.

So please post something abjective and insightful about this, so we can discuss and solve the whole thing. If you keep posting like this you will only get modded down > get frustrated > post more insults > ...

I saw an interesting (and serious) documentary on this a while ago (don't know if this has been posted before). I don't remember the details but here are some of the facts i do remember:

    1. Giza Pyramids in Egypt are aligned with Orion
    2. The big sphinx is WAY older than we thought. some geologist proved this.
    3. The Teotihuacan Pyramids (In SOUTH AMERICA)display about the same layout as the Giza Pyramids with regard to Orion's belt. (by the way these people didn't have the knowledge of the wheel, yet they are supposed to have build these pyramids)
    4. Various sculptures from different cultures that lived about 4.000 to 5.000 years ago in SOUTH AMERICA portray bearded people and black people. How did they get there? South Americans are genetically unable to have such beard-growth and arn't black either.
    5. Old maps show almost the exact shape of antarctica. But antarctica is covered with ice and we only know the shape of antarctica because of radar and other hi-tech stuff. So how did they do that?

    1. There used to be a civilsation we know nothing about that existed BEFORE continent-drift began.
    2. Continent-drift started later then we think
All very interesting stuff and worth some seious research if u ask me. (sorry for my poor english)
