    It may be easier for you to build a house out of housey-looking parts, but that doesn't mean anyone should have to live in it. Ask the Haitians.

    Same with site building. You choose to be able to drag-and-drop your designs onto a canvas, rather than build standards-compliant markup that is easy to maintain. You're skimping and cutting corners on technology, in a technology industry. If you did the same thing in physical construction, and someone died, you'd be toast.

    Sure, I'm being silly and hyperbolic. But when you ask how to find a free tool to create a lesser quality product because you can't be arsed to code, and someone points it out, don't get your dander up.

    Take it like a man, or stop banging out web sites with a ukelele.

    The Killing Joke remains one of the best Joker stories, period. It added the emotional edge to the character (and his relationship with Batman) that was always missing.

    I'd gladly spend 12-24 hours on a zeppelin if it was more like a train. Lots of leg room, a sleeper car, a dining area, etc.

    Plus, they'd probably have much larger windows. You'd really feel like you were travelling - not jammed in a metal tube being uncomfortably jetted across the sky for hours.

    I think we've all gotten used to getting somewhere in a few hours - but I have yet to find anyone who actually likes the experience, unless they can afford to go first class. And even that's monotonous.

    on the Apple //e's in our computer lab in the mid 80's. Those were great classes, but of course I never used Pascal again. I admit it was more interesting than Basic.

    I think part of the appeal was that the original Wizardry was written in Pascal. Then when I graduated I got trained on an answering service system (based on PCs) that was also written in Pascal.

    ..which in turn reminds me of that video footage of a bunch of well-dressed men in Florida banging on the doors of a county election office in 2000. Supposedly they were angry voters distressed about the recount, but it was actually John Bolton and a bunch of other party hacks putting on a school play. Disgusting.

    I grew up near the edge of Fermilab, so did most of my family. Pretty easy for kids to take a bike ride straight in there. Lots of weird anomoly rumors, too, which is natural.

    I think security clamped down suddenly after 9/11.
