If you get so upset with process control, what do you think of windows XP embedded running on life support machines. Oh yea!!!
Trust me, its been done:D
Blue-screen of death here we come...
Wow, people always find something wrong with everything.
Those IDE drives are for booting only. Since they have uptime in years, it doesn't matter that they are slow, but they are significantly cheaper when you are buying them by the thousands.
It would be a fail to think they would store anything needed on such servers, other than os. The servers are probably linked to a harddrive farm by network or fiber-channel.
I dont understand. She says minimum amount people should be exposed to, meanwhile what she means is maximum.
How can I trust someones knowledge on anything when they dont know the difference between minimum and maximum.
Umm what makes you think any of this is to benefit the gamer? If they don't tie it down to a specific console and make it so its like old half life/ counterstrike was (only one instance of a cd key can play online at a time) or which is the same thing steam is doing now it could be fine.
Then if you pass it to someone you trust with the key they can play it too. But if you give it out on the internet then it will be unplayable because you will never know when someone is on.
Now the only question is whether sony can be trusted to create such an old school implementation.
On interesting problem is transferring all that energy. I don't think you could just run the power lines through the water. That could be a lot of dead fish:P
They will probably have to place them all under ground.
Separating them can be trouble some too. How are you going to separate the lines? Depending on the place minerals in soil could cause shorts, or water (being under a body of water doesnt help here)
Or if they build a concrete tunnel, it would have to be huge, and steel reinforcement could be an issue, unless its a really huge tunnel.
Electricity at those voltages like to jump fairly spectacular distances. I wouldn't want to be one maintaining such tunnels either.
I dont know. Vibrations, fatigue? Unless they use some plastic fibers and not glass, Im not sure how well it would resist fracturing compared to metal wires. It will also raise costs like crazy. Although hey its the military. They dont have budget problems like NASA.
We have some relatives scattered around Europe. We signed a contract (this was a while ago) with Telus. Before signing the contract I asked them. I have a lot of relatives around Europe and we keep in touch be texting. Can I text to Europe with Telus. They said yes.
Long story short no. And then she modified her statement. It works to SOME countries in Europe. Yea. Got a $2000 termination fee on 2 phones for a some year contract. Never again Telus!
Not much. I mean think of it. If you have a reasonably secure (WPA/WPA2) secured wireless network at home, how are they supposed to sniff your https traffic to begin with?
And if we are talking about small businesses and such most administration is done over a wired network most likely anyway. And higher end (cisco) / customisable (wrt series) hardware lets you change the ssl key anyway, which was advisable to begin with.
Yes, because running JavaScript and Ajax applications is so much faster than running native ones./sarcasm/
And yes really how often are you without internet. Ooh can't connect to a wifi/my internet is out , I guess I wont do my homework...
Wow they want to make money but it will end up just killing java... Its a crappy language anyways. There are many nice cross-platform c++ libraries like QT still. Hopefully Nokia wont go the way of Sun.
One more reason for me to hate oracle more.
With https this would be really useless anyways. Unless they force ISPs to do a man in the middle attack. But then now everyone there would be really open to fake websites, because people would just get used to getting a false certificate warning on every page (much like if you browse on rogers's 3g network in canada...)
How does this work when most email sites (at least gmail) now use https by default. They cant possibly log that. Or will they at one point force isps to do man in the middle. That way you will never get a valid certificate and know when you are giving away your login to the wrong website...
It will be interesting to see when businesses wont be able to fax, or deal with clients whose names contains those banned words because of this technology. Once again 3 steps forward, 2 back...
And one day when the current government of china collapses, he and his wife will be regarded a hero. I wish instead of putting them in jail china would just deport them. Im sure many countries would gladly take them. Yes north america (usa and its copy cat canada) is messed up too, but I'd still rater live there than in china.
We have freedom and tons of dumb people. But at least you have a choice of not being dump:P. Although it does make existence harder than necessary...
Thats pretty, bad although I highly doubt it could really get that hot during flight. I never heard of people complaining of molten stuff.
More importantly... In a way we are really afraid of terrorists (this is bs to me) but then they publicly announce, weaknesses in current security, since heat wont but a short can easily cause this.... I don't understand...
Yes sometimes 3rd party items can be crap, but in this case it was 3rd party crap that apple itself was pushing, and that's a little different. I dont think sony pushed those savecards, or your laptops manufacturer that crappy battery.
I'm sure Iran or North Korea wouldn't mind. We should talk to them.

No. Those cameras cause accidents. Speeding is not a danger. People noticing the cameras and ramming their brakes on is.

They should just call it the iApp Store.

I'm sorry Canada. I didn't realise 65GB/month was a lot.... I guess I'll have to pay through the nose now.
Obviously god put it there to test your faith...

There is a right way to do things and a hackish way. I wonder which one is which
