Anonymous Cowards are killing Slashdot. Seriously.. even the incredible # of moderators aren't enough to keep up now. Ban Anonymous Cowards, but give users the ability to still post anon as long as they login.
I read this in the Washington Post on the way to work this morning.. surely someone submitted this.. why is there such a lag time on submissions? I see 351 pending..
And I don't know if this is just due to LinuxWorld.. it seems some new staff came on and have been posting stories, but it still doesn't seem to be enough for some reason..
This isn't meant as a flame, just a concern. I want Slashdot to be the one source I go to to get news, but at this point, that's not really news anymore. Kudos to all of the Slashdot crew for all the work they've put in, but maybe they can bring another person or two on to help out and speed things up a bit?
Like it wasn't enough having to write code that NS, IE, and AOL would display somewhat similar, now you have the Dreamcast (and god how horrible is the Dreamcast browser. I'll concede it -might- be somewhat useable if I had the Dreamcast keyboard, but.. why would I go buy that? So I can browse at 320x200 resolution?), and soon the PSX2 to worry about?
...
It is a -bitch- to view pages on the Dreamcast. In my routine surfing on one for testing, I don't think I came across one I didn't have to scroll horizontally on. I envision the PSX2 is going to suffer from the same shortcomings.
Is saying this really worth your time? And who the hell wasted time moderating that up? Just don't read the fscking story if you're not interested. Clicking on the Read More link and posting a comment bitching about it is lame. No one cares. Find a better use for your time.
We've probably all gotten a rejection letter or two when we applied to college. It sucked. Can you imagine this though?
First, to get hit with something like "You didn't score well enough on the SATs, but here are some legos. Go at it."
Second, to get another rejection letter:
"Your robot building skills do not meet Colorado College standards. Your application is rejected for the Fall 2001 term. We suggest you go back to Duplo blocks and reapply next semester."
Heh, how goofy were those Duplo blocks. They were fscking HUGE.
(insert random comment of getting moderated down for not bashing MS)
I'll take any media players I can get for Linux.. I don't really care who's writing it, I think it's important that if Windows Media Player does gain enough share over Real, that there is a way to still play media on Linux.
I'm not sure exactly what tax it is, but I know corporations save a lot of $ by incorporating in Delaware due to the tax laws there.

Would it be illegal now to link to somewhere outside of the US that is publishing the code on their page?
It can be found here.

Does this mean I get to hear people shouting 'First Post!' and talking about Natalie Portman naked and petrified with a bowl of hot grits?
:)

Has it aired yet? I don't recall seeing a summary or wrap-up of it here.. anyone got any info for us?
I was getting tired of this solar system anyway.
Even with 3 computers in 1 case, it cannot stand up to the mighty /. effect. :)
That certainly didn't take long.. :(
