Which of course, raises the question, why couldn't you just bloody SAY "31 Gigawatts" instead of tangling yourself in this foofaraw of extraneous time units that you didn't even get right?

If a robot could be designed that could distinguish weed from crop, it would eliminate the need for most herbicides and herbicide resistant GMO seeds
If a robot could be designed that could distinguish weed from crop, it would eliminate the need for most herbicides and herbicide resistant GMO seeds--*as long as the robots were not significantly more expensive than the herbicides*. That's the tricky part.
Because of christainity. III Reich was christian to the bone. And nazi murderers had "Gott mit Uns" on their belt buckles.
+5 Insightful? Slashdot is more historically ignorant than I thought. The Third Reich was was considerably *anti*-Christian, as it put God above the Furher. Crucifixes in classrooms were replaced by photos of Hitler. "Gott mit Uns" was a traditional saying for German military belt buckles (They were used extensively in World War I). The SS (who were the actual Nazi troops) did NOT have this motto--they had "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) instead.
Zeroing in that manner is also not secure--an opponent could get a lovely picture of them by simply yanking power and transferring the disks. Encrypting them (with a random key, if you like) prevents this.
Sweden *can't* issue one--it takes the EU to issue one. That's why it's an "EU arrest warrant". No such warrant has been issued for Assange. Sweden got England's agreement to render him over not by having such a warrant--if they'd had such a warrant there'd have been no court hearings at all, they'd just have arrested him and carted him off--but by the old fashioned method of getting him extradited.
But you can't use them for this. EU arrest warrants can only be issued for criminal prosecutions or enforcing custodial sentences. If it doesn't involve being sent to prison for at least a year, they won't issue one.
What $50 million hit? How is France going to enforce a judgment (which they haven't even won yet, as a matter of fact)? "Pay us $50 million or we will make very angry faces at you."
Yet. The point at which solar energy becomes cheaper than the competition is called 'grid parity', and it's already happened in some countries [triplepundit.com]. Over the next few years we'll see it happen in more and more places.
So, if profitability is just around the corner, why is Bosch bailing?
Which just turns the question around the other way. If the anti-Assad rebels are radical Islam and anti-western, why would the western powers be pursuing a defamation campaign against Assad?
Cars *used* to be immune from EMP. Modern cars have electronic fuel injection completely controlled by solid-state microprocessors. EMP will stop them cold.
Why does the state have to be involved in the ceremony at all? Fill out the paperwork, and as far the state is concerned, you're married. Ceremony? Hey, if you want one, knock yourself out. If you don't, that's cool too. None of it needs to be the state's business.
Radar could have prevented the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor!
Pearl Harbor *had* radar on December 7, 1941. Unfortunately, inexperience in its use and poor communication protocols led the operators to mistake the first incoming Japanese attack wave for a flight of B-17s that was due to land at Hickam Field at about that time (the bombers actually showed up in the middle of the attack and had to land while under fire).
Things little Twitter facilitate information and opinion exchange
Well, no, they don't. Twitter's 140 character straightjacket means that you can't post anything more than reinforcements to people's prejudices and mindless slogans. Twitter most likely would've *encouraged* the Iraq war.

What do I have to worry about? I don't live in a cave complex.

The guy firing it, 'cause when it fails, it's liable to blow off his hand, or face.
Sez you. I carry a 3DS in my shirt pocket whenever I wear a shirt that has a pocket. It fits fine.
But only in Britain.
Here's a riddle for you. What's Ubuntu based on? Think carefully.
Not a combat aircraft. Cargo and recon.
One would think so, but somehow the only Unix I've ever seen that does this without custom configuration seems to be Solaris.

And then, some of us still have those consoles hooked up and ready to use, like my Dreamcast.

Look. Nobody wants your Pearled Unicorns.
I have a gmail account. I store absolutely nothing on it. It's all routed to my private IMAP server.

Glad we could clear that up for you.
