    I don't watch TV anymore. I haven't done that for at least 6 months now. All I watch for entertainment is Youtube, and the linked clips on Digg.

    If Viacom doesn't want me to watch their shows, good riddance. There's lots of other companies that appreciate the free publicity for their shows.

    Yeah, Colbert may be funny, but I think I'll live on without him.

    Not only that. When Win3.1 was released, they broke compatability with the DR-DOS, while their own MS-DOS still worked fine.

    I completely agree. I used to think Nvidia was the pinnacle of PC Gaming, but turns out they just had great marketing.

    I switched to ATI and I haven't had any problems at all with my card. I've been running a Radeon 9800 for TWO YEARS now, and I've still been able to play all of the new games I wanted to.

    Yes, they have Linux drivers too, although I have only gamed on Windows. Ubuntu booted fine and gave me no problems with my card, if that counts.

    Can you mention Wing Commander without remembering Ultima? The golden age of PC gaming was brought down almost single-handedly by EA and their Origin buyout.

    Ultima 7 was the pinnacle of RPG's in the 90's. Then EA came in, and they were done.

    How many times must it be repeated? OPENGL IS NOT EQUIVALENT TO DIRECTX. OpenGL is an Open GRAPHICS LIBRARY.

    Seems like some of you are still stuck on 9 years ago, no offense. DirectX9 is a set of tools not limited to graphics.

    Linux, as much as it pains me to say, does not have a DX9, or 8, or hell, even DX7 equivalent.

    Well, to me, Farenheit seems ridiculous. Why is 40F "Very Cold" or Freezing? Shouldn't it be 0? or 100?

    You're saying that because you grew up with it, but ask anyone who uses the Centigrades and they'll be able to tell you what temperature they are at (ballpark number, at least).

    The units are not "Too big" either. Can you use decimal points? 22.5C

    To me, Farenheit units are ridiculous and nonsensical.

    You are completely, completely wrong, my friend. Since I grew up on the Metric system, I can easily invert all of the examples in your message.

    Calculating distances in feet, to me, is just ridiculous. But I understand that since you grew up and are used to this system, you fear change.
