I flirted with the idea of registering an account for the purpose, but it seemed in poor taste. And also like a really funny idea. Fear of guilt won out.
With the new one, it just looks like Gates is wearing a really poorly-designed Bluetooth phone headset.
To be fair, the Collective isn't really known as a paragon of attractive and/or ergonomic design. But just wait 'till you see what they can do in terms of scalability!
Well, the Catholic church holds pretty firmly to the 'cop-out' that Jesus "has no hands but yours". Take that as you will, and mind what you're doing with His Hands.
Wow, talk about confusingly worded summary. If you're going to talk about how many sites have failed to pass the test, and then compare that to previous numbers, make sure that the second number is ALSO the percentage that FAILED and not the precentage that PASSED. At first I though it was saying that, last time, only 20% failed the test and was wondering why the OP seemed to be suggesting that 51% failure is better than 20% failure.
It's not confusing at all. If you're not paying attention, you might get confused... but if you have any reading comprehension it should be pretty clear what is being stated.
You'd think the people that read a site (formerly?) billed as "News for Nerds" would appreciate the importance of Implicit vs. Explicit.
That's like saying "It's a Blonde! No need for a joke!"

Since when are Tunisia and Egypt in the Middle East, instead of North Africa?
Since "Middle East" seems to be a placeholder for some as (Geographical "Middle East") + (Any other predominantly Arab/Muslim nations, particularly (exclusively?) in North Africa).
That's what I infer, at any rate. Your Mileage May Vary.
Funny thing, but I decided to look up the bit in Foundation about the realities of appealing to the Emperor (via google). A Wikimedia foundation page with a Personal Appeal from Jimmy Wales was the seventh link down.
I guess government funding has its advantages, eh? It didn't even occur to them to cut crap like this until it was extreme budget tightening time.
Sounds like a respectable set of priorities. But perhaps they forgot they were even paying for it until they found it behind an enormous mental block one day...

Plus, you're eventually going to get tired of shouting.
Don't jump to conclusions, Governor. The Federation would not dare go that far.
The identity has been known about for quite some time; however, its application in discussion and debate is something you can investigate.
That is what Ask.com was designed and optimized for. That was supposed to be their competitive advantage.
I still kinda miss Jeeves, myself.

Why is this better than MS?
Easy, because it's not Microsoft and uses the word "open" in it's name. Is this your first time posting on Slashdot?
This is my first time posting on Slashdot, you insensitive clod!
I think it's probably too lake to put the cat back in the tube at this point.
Why soup kitchens?
...The only thing they have to fear are alternative fuels
Which is why I'm surprised that they haven't already tried to corner the market, figuratively or otherwise.

No need for an analogy.

Because there's no reward like a talking plague?
I once knew a guy that had diarrhea of the mouth...
Actually, it is his role to act. Just not in the sense that most people assume.
I've been hearing from more "cute Ukrainians" myself.
I'm already looking forward for stories of LibertyOffice!!
I can use it while I enjoy my Liberty Cabbage and Liberty Sausage!
I'll believe it when I see the gold lame' suit.
Even 'FreeOffice' would have been better, or "LibertyOffice' as somebody else suggested.
Is there any precedent for localized naming(/branding?), perhaps? Or would that just create more problems?
Or it could be like replacing an air filter after you find it contains too much crap for anything useful to flow out of it.
(Does that count as a car analogy?)
You might want to make it an oil filter, just to be on the safe side.

I suppose it depends on how hot is your cup of tea.
Unfortunately, all I can seem to manage is something almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
Hey, if you think you can or can't, are or aren't then 'viola!', it is so.
(Emphasis mine)
You're close. At least you didn't say 'whala'.
He certainly struck a chord with me.
