Apparently (IANAL, IMBanal) the patents were thrown out because (1) too much time was taken modifying the patent claims, and this seemed to be intentional (something called "latches"); (2) the patent(s) described a system in which the objects to be scanned were at a fixed position, while the supposedly offending systems found the objects (e.g., bar codes) anywhere in their field of view and scanned them there.
There were also differences in which the way the information was processed (patent: analog differencing, systems: computer processing).
How well does it work for large arguments (pi*10^8+.001 for example)?
Argument reduction is essential for accurate trig functions. See "Software Manual for the Elementary Functions" by Code and Waite for a good discussion.
iirc, there was a similar product for the Amiga. I don't recall the name, but you could hook up a video camera to the Amiga and interact with objects on the screen. I believe that one game let you play virtual instruments.
Interesting that the battery update is for the 12" iBook and not the 14" iBook. I just ordered a 12" iBook from Yellow Dog Linux (which, btw, are shipping the X video driver for their Linux on Friday), so I will be installing these updates this weekend.
I use cygwin both at work and at home. At work, I have to use Windows (2000 workstation). cygwin makes it bearable.
BTW, when Windows 2000 boots, it says "Based on Windows NT Technology". Isn't that a warning mandated by the government, similar to the warning on cigarette packs?
Open Watcom is a joint effort between SciTech Software Inc, Sybase(R), and the Open Source development community to maintain and enhance the Sybase Watcom C/C++ and Fortran compiler products. Plans for Open Watcom include porting the compiler to the Linux and FreeBSD platforms, as well as updating the compilers to support the latest C and C++ ANSI standards.
The Open Watcom development team has released version 1.1. You can download the source and binaries here.
I came to the same conclusion a while ago when I realized that 95% of my printing used only black ink (not too much white ink).
After deciding to get a laser printer, I also chose the Brother 1440 because of the speed, large cartridges, and the ability to print duplex (two-sided).
The duplex printing is done by printing the even pages in reverse order, putting the paper back in reversed, and printing the odd pages on the backs. It workes great and, imho, is better than duplexing inside the printer since it is faster.
The 1440 also can print from 300 dpi to 1200 dip, do booklets, and, in general, does what I want.
I like preferential! Nice work.
(Shows how far OOTL I am that I never heard of it before this.)
I tried it, and I still prefer Mozilla.
Why is this NOT listed in the Apple /. section?
Very interesting.

I found it a very interesting read.
My compliments to the judge.
This may be naive, but, can Helix be compiled for Yellow Dog Linux on Mac hardware?
I remember that a survey found that 98% of Saab owners voted for McGovern. I was and did.
How bout if I change someone's dream input?
Hacking dreams???
FP?
I would be interested in seeing your code.

I dropped a 300+MB microdrive about 3 feet onto a linoleum floor and it crashed. Couldn't read anything from it.
Fortunately, it was just pictures and I had a adequate CF card to use in its stead.
Stiil, quite annoying.

I used to think that I was indecisive,
but now I'm not so sure.

Then shouldn't your sig be
"Thex who would give up an essential libertx for temporarx securitx, deserve neither libertx or securitx"?

It doesn't matter what you call it when your vote isn't counted.
My great fear is that this can mean the end of democracy in America.
History may say:
American democracy - Born 1789, died 2000.
Nice try.
Look up pippy - python in palm at http://pippy.sourceforge.net/
There is another open source Fortran. Look at

Regarding your sig:

It seems that the electronic voting machine

I use a trackball. If you think mouse sigs
are childish, try it with a trackball!

What is Titanic doing in this list? It just has
the standard plot of boy meets ship, boy gets
ship, boy loses ship.
This works because:
.012345679...
.012345789ABCDF...
in base 10, 1/(9*9) =
in base 16, 1/(15*15) =
It works in any base.
Here's one I proved a while ago:
987654312
--------- = 8
123456789
This also works in any base.
