Our rights are just as important as anybody elses. If you claim to be for free speech, then be for free speech. Don't censor people for unpopular views. Limiting the number of postings does just that.

Clear Channel just plays the same stuff that any other radio station would play. Don't diss them. Blame the RIAA for failing to develop good pop music.

If this thing could be contructed, then it means putting an antenna array in a precise location using robotic equipment. The ability to do this requires a telemtry infrastructure that could easily be used after the construction is over to transmit the data to Earth for analysis. There are any number of ways to do this. Most likely the plan calls for satellites orbiting the moon to transmit the data to Earth. They could also lay fiber optic cable across the surface of the moon to a relay station in view of Earth.

What happened in California was that the price of electricity to the power companies was allowed to change, while the price to the consumer was not. At one point when power supplie did not meet demand prices jumped dramatically for the power companies. But the consumers still payed the same rates. So the companies supplying the electricity were required to sell it at a loss. Since being forced to operate at a loss is antithetical to their nature. The electricity companies nearly went bankrupt which would have really trashed California. Other states have implemented deregulation of electricity without any of the problems California had. The fact is the system was over regulated from the beginning.

It never say he downloaded divx movies. He could easily be downloading really crappy real player movies seperated into 50 parts off a Pakistani server. This is easily accomplished at 9600 baud. Hell someone with enough patience (unlike you lazy americans) could download DVDs at 9600 baud.

The major problem with electric cars right now is battery technology. We need batteries that can work for about 200-300 miles before recharging just to get the technology at a minimum acceptable level. Because recharging takes so long you can't just refuel it in 10 minutes like a gasoline powered car. Thus a fully charged battery needs to last for at least a full day while under heavy driving conditions, like road trips, to be completely accepted.

If all the ISPs in your area use MAPS then that means that is what the market wants. If not enough people don't want MAPS for an ISP to make a profit not having it then you'll just have to put up with the fact that in the real world not everything goes the way you like it. There is no reason that in a free society a minority should be able to force the majority to have something they don't want. As long as the government isn't infringing on anybody's essential freedom then your only recourse is through the normal means of the market.
