No, lookup JP1 remotes. One can be had for $40, like the URC9910, with an RF repeater box to control stuff from anywhere in the house. Then it can be completely reprogrammed with free tools from that site (hifiremote.com or something) to control whatever you want, however you want. One of my favorite macros is to hold the device keys (DVD, VCR, etc) to automatically tune the TV, receiver to the right inputs, navigate the menus, and exit out so you're ready to watch.
The conditions on Saddam's "probation" from 1991 were for him to provide proof, let inspectors do their inspecting, of dismantling the weapons he did have at the time of the agreement. He didn't do any of that, so it became time for the probation officers to kick down his door and settle things for his original crimes.
Hell, I've mailed returns out the day after a few times because I was too lazy to drive to the post office that night. IRS didn't give me any problems with it. I got the same amount back I was expecting, no penalty or anything.
Just the other day, Newegg had the X2 4200 for $109. I was going to build a 3800 AM2 box, but then they dropped that, so I went with it. Check again if you're getting ready to build.... I just checked, and damn, they've lowered it a few more dollars to $105.90. This CPU was just around $150 a few weeks ago before AMD cut prices, now Newegg has cut it a couple times more.
Yes, I was meaning to say once they weigh in all the crimes associated with the two kidnappings. News reports this afternoon say he is being looked at for an unsolved kidnapping of a similar age boy in 1991. And they are saying he allegedly used a gun to kidnap the kid four years ago, so that's gonna add on quite a few more years.
He may not be up for the death penalty by the state, but you know how the other alleged criminals in prison take to violent crimes against children... He'll likely plea bargain for something better, protective custody, 25 instead of life. My main point is these sort of big national cases rarely see a full trial, let alone the public finding out what sort of depravity he commits on the boys.
The trouble with these cases is we (the general public) never find out what really happens in years-long kidnappings. I guess even you paranoid Slashdotters forget about this thing called "privacy." Just because the media doesn't know all the gritty details, doesn't mean the police, psychologists, etc aren't asking these kids the right questions.
Inevitably, the guy will accept a plea to avoid the death penalty, so there won't be any trial or anything more public.
Try working in dialysis, where if you perform exceptionally all year, work plenty of overtime because so many people quit, you just might get the company mandated maximum raise of three percent. Where year-end reviews consist of things like, "Oh, you were late three minutes six times this year.. that's not good. You really need to work on that."
And merry Christmas, here's a $20 Wal-mart card. Don't spend it all in one place. Company "party" is lunch, a tray of Subway sandwiches. I'd say about 4 or 5 foot-long subs cut up, for about 15 employees. And the sign put up that week suggested those who have the day off come in as well for the festivities. Woot.
Don't you understand the gravity of the situation?? Global Warming is adapting it's behavior. It now has the power to NOT have hurricanes!! This is gravely disturbing to conspiracy theory nuts everywhere! I can just imagine the possibilities it will lead to.
So, obviously our culture has diseased the innocent solarian people. Now they are causing their own homeland to have solar warming.
When will we learn from Algore??
And it's been scientifically proven by consensus that the above is true. The only ones who doubt it are right-wing, gun-toting religious wackos who want corporations to make money and kill Bambi. Don't fall for their hype.
Sorry, I just hit the ebay express website. They had a link to Playstation 3s right from the front page. They have such bargains as a PS3 bundle of 6 games, extra controller, and a FREE Elmo TMX for only $1550. Why are you people not buying stuff like this?? It should be a mega-super winner. Heck, even the Elmo TMX's are ranging from $59 to $200 in there. Craziness is the only way to explain it.
Given that so, so many auctions already have minimum bids and buy-it-now prices set within one dollar of each other and close to retail prices, what's the use of this express? I've been looking for games for my Nintendo DS and Gamecube (to play on my Wii) games. If they aren't at retail prices, they want higher than retail prices when you add in the $15-25 "shipping and handling" fees.
"Innovation" doesn't equate to yet another Doom/Halo/etc. Independent developers, one or two person groups, can make some fun, innovative games that don't require a few hundred thousand dollars of textures and high-def graphics. Puzzle games are one area for some good time-wasting, fun games. Not many people will pay $60 for yet-another-tetris-clone. Meteos on the Nintendo DS is a great little game. Some simple, addictive game could rake in a lot for a small-timer at $10 or so a pop. Big studios won't waste their developers' time on something like that, when they can go for the huge mega-hits.
Homebrew/small-time dev kits can be a great boon for all the consoles. They are all having more online content, ways of downloading games. Just extend it this last bit further.
It's just a simple case of wrong-tool-itis. I used RedHat and Mandrake back in their early days, and it wasn't that difficult to solve dependencies. RPM says something like "this package requires libblah.so, so I'd "ncftp redhat" and do a "dir blah* libblah*" 95% of the time that resolved it. Apt does the same thing, just with a larger database of packages. With either system, if the distribution doesn't have a build of that specific library, it's then up to you to build it yourself.
Something I haven't (easily) found though, is how to find the package name of a particular file in Debian/Ubuntu. Say you want the "foo" command, but it resides in the "blahtoolkit" package. Does apt/dpkg have an option to search it's database to find a specific file, when "apt-get install foo" doesn't work?
Man, Solitaire is way cooler than apt or rpm! They need to just get rid of everything in Linux that isn't related to Solitaire. Only then can it really compete on the desktop.
Back in the day, there was a pretty active SNES development community. I wrote a disassembler, while another guy wrote the assembler. I made some simple demos, but never got into it enough to make anything useful. I mostly just looked at huge blocks of commercial games' assembly for sport. What a dork.
Does that include a compiler? Can you use a windows binary of gcc? Since it mentioned creating a project for the Xbox, I figure it is meant for Visual Studio. How many $100 bills is that again? And no, you can't count Pirate Bay...
I get more spam to my main email address than I do to the catchall account (hundreds a week vs 10-20).
Where are Bill & Ted when you really need them?

Just create multiple accounts, each keeping within the $5000 annual limit. Take that IRS!

It was modded due to the "We don't need no stinkin' facts 'round these parts" attitude on this site.
I'll just wait for the X-treme disruptive technologies!!!1!!
koolness

New Orleans is below sea level too. Just hope your government spends money to repair the levies and not to open condos/casinos.
Maybe water levels aren't rising. Maybe the ground is just sinking! OMG, it's the mole people destroying us!!!

Windows is hardly the system we need to model after for software installations. Everything would just be "cp lib/* /lib; cp bin/* /bin".

That's for the blind and deaf hunters, but just hit them to simulate the recoil.
