Walmart is generally cheaper than other stores where I live by a large margin as for online... depends what and how much you are getting and whether you can wait for it to ship.
I got good grades in school, was never geeky, and I did flirt with a shy nerdy girl because I wanted her to help me get caught up on classes after spending a few weeks in the hospital... and then pretended to still need her help after I had caught back up before I finally asked her out.
I'm guessing that would be what the non-geeky boys do.
I thought it would be able to bypass traffic and get a first responder on the ground in a much shorter time even in an urban environment, when 3 or 4 minutes could be the difference between life or death. They may not be able to evacuate an injured person but they should be able to attempt to stabilize an injured person. {the article doesn't really mention lift capacity but I imagine it would have to be able to take some basic supplies}
Which regulations? Where I live drivers need a commercial driver's license which cost the same as a regular license.. everything else is fairly standard, vehicles have to be inspected, have insurance, and be registered just like any other business or personal vehicle. The business of course need a tax ID and they have to pay taxes.
Well if the reports of them promoting using an escort service are untrue then it's actionable, otherwise they should have known they would have had some backlash and outrage especially from the media. Now if they attack the media directly smearing the personal lives of journalists chances are it would be even worse for them than the journalist.
As a company anything they do that offends a large enough number of people is going to get covered, and the more often they do it the more the press is going to watch them.
Well the thing about certifications are memorization, some people can memorize a large volume of information for a short period of time with no real understanding of the subject. I aced history in high school, I would read chapters from the textbook the night before and ace tests but not retain any information. The teacher accused me of cheating but was even more disappointed when he found out I wasn't actually cheating and how I did it.
I've worked with plenty of fresh out school kids with degrees and certs that they got mostly by memorization. They end up learning on the job.
I think it was Diablo 2 {it was one of the Diablo games} I took back to the store because it had a visible defect on a couple of the discs that kept it from being read. The guy told me they couldn't refund it but he would exchange it... which was fine because I wanted to play the game.
He exchanged it for me and I opened it at the counter and inspected the discs only to find some of them also had the same defect. He opened four boxes for me to find all the disc needed for the game with out the defect.
This isn't really the same thing, it would probably be harder to get them to refund it for bad code.
Certifications aren't required either... you could have started as a tech grub for an ISP or computer manufacture and worked your way up with only on the job training.
At no point have I ever had anyone say to me "Isn't your degree in applied arts? How can you know that without a CS degree?"
The company I work for employs fewer people with degrees than people with extensive experience.
a predominantly video Facebook guarantees it will NOT be user-created.
I already see a lot of video status updates posted by users... oh look you took video snippit instead of a photo... not that I care to see everything your cat, dog, or kid does that you think is cute...
I'm not particularly found of facebook but I have a lot of friends that use it and the younger ones tend to post a lot of short video rambles instead of text.
Really a 20 second video from your iphone about riding in the car and something funny happened, but you didn't catch it on video and all we see is your face?!?!?!?
Will it eventually replace the text on a status update maybe, it already has for some people.
How many teenage boys make jokes about shooting up a school every day? (if you're really wondering, it's pretty much all of them)
Teenage boys don't send threats like that to the school everyday, I would know my teenage boys would never be in class, because they send the kids home or evacuate the building if it's a bomb threat. Usually when they catch them they give them big a slap on the wrist with some probation and make them get an evaluation.
They might jokingly text it to their friends.. but that's not the same.
It's a felony in some states including mine sadly battery is only a misdemeanor. You would think that punching someone's lights out would have a harsher penalty than saying you will.
Unless you are trying to not leave any traces a sheet-rock knife could cut a new door between hotel rooms and in just a few seconds. Some doors are sturdier but most doors are really easy to kick open just like in the movies. Windows are easy to break also. Most door locks are more of a suggestion than an actual security feature.
I think CS should be a core class in high school and required for everyone at least two years worth, four would be better. I say this because computers are so integrated into our lives that not having more than the most basic understanding could be very limiting. Then after high school if a girl wants to go into CS she will already know if she has the aptitude and desire to do so, naysayers be damned.
Just out of curiosity what happens to your assets and past debts like a home... car loan... boat.. some past medical bills you are paying on... well they stay the same and the value of your home appreciates. So who does minimum wage increases really benefit most? Probably the middle aged middle class home owner.
Lower because of limited demand but not below cost. My wife is a regional manager of convenience chain and one of the myths of the mid-west is that gas stations don't make money on gasoline, but the reality is they don't make a boat load of money on gasoline. The more interesting part is that those stores in the more populated areas with higher prices still pay the same amount for their gas since the company buys all of their gas at one price and trucks it to their stores themselves.
I read the court document sounded like a bunch of opinions made on earnings call about a product that hadn't even been finished. Things like we started early than previous transitions to new game consoles, are going to work closer with vendors, and I think this is going to be the best launch ever is not the same as what you are talking about.
How is "OMG I can't afford to stream 8 hours of video a day any more" going to set society back 20 years? If anything, it will be a huge improvement.
You mention gasoline, the fuel tax is $0.184 on a gallon which costs currently $2.79 (In my area of the US) which is around 6% sure this makes people cut back or get a smaller car however what would happen if it was $13.05 a gallon around a 400% tax it wouldn't just change what and the way people drive it would have an immediate negative effect on fuel industry, car manufactures, consumer, and any number of businesses.
It would set back much of industry and I think a internet tax of this magnitude would do more damage than you realize.
He's the one in the hat... oh wait, that's Waldo.

Really my teenager and his friends use facetime, all the time...

I don't know but I have heard of assaults where only the perpetrator was aware of a perceived real world acquaintance.

A week from now if someone does follow through on the threats is it still a joke? Seriously, sometimes threats do get carried out.

Something i like to ask my middle class friends when they complain about possible minimum wage increases and the cost of everything going up.
What happens to the payment on your 30 year fixed mortgage when when the minimum wage goes up. Nothing.
artificially low gas prices

Remote and Virtual desktop I work with some fairly large files.

There is a new Family Video attached to a pizza place in my town... They recently started delivering movies when you order pizza.
When ever I drive by, there are cars in the parking lot even before the pizza place opened, so I guess people still rent videos.
