my officemate pointed out that my dual monitors had different color settings I didn't notice and I can't tell the difference between the HD and regular channels on my cable box either (yes I wear glasses)

Sure 8000 tweets about how you disagree with a religious leader fine, but this is not the case and the article that was used in the original post does not do a good job of presenting all the facts it doesn't even give all the involved names. Do a search and find some more information before you start deciding this is a win.

I have had cars hit by people texting while driving three times. Once while at a stop sign i was rear ended and twice they hit my parked car. Each time was a fight with the drivers insurance company. I am glad that texting while driving is not legal here.

The company I work for has offices scattered all over the country even when I am in the office 100% of the people I interact with are still not face to face. Sometimes they ask if I'm in the office or at home cause they know I work from home about 80% of the time.

  7. I have an office but work from home. on Does Telecommuting Make You Invisible? · · Score: 1

I have an office and yes I work from home. My office is 67 miles from my home so in the end it saves me a lot of money to only go into the office once a week. As for visibility I see people when I am in the office and socialize at the water cooler but don't work directly with any of them. I guess it all comes down to the structure of the enterprise you work in. Supporting applications for an enterprise where 100% of your users are scattered in offices across the country really doesn't give you an opportunity to shake a lot of hands.

Hold up. Do you not have a Information Security depart (in my case a cissp) that does intrusion detection and checks patch levels on a monthly basis. That implements policies to keep people from creating insecure passwords be it an average user or Admin. Do they not do daily, weekly, monthly audits that fill your inbox with response required. Do user's not come to you constantly asking why they can't have or do something with which you must reply ask Information Security. More than one Admin must have dropped the ball.

A high performance generator on an RV can run for 10-12 hours on 4 gallons of gas and run and Air conditioner, refrigerator, lights, charge a laptop, run the radio without problem. Wouldn't using one of these high performance generators in place of batteries make an efficient alternative. Range and refueling time and locations fixed. I'm not sure power infrastructure where I live could support everyone in my neighborhood if they had to charge their vehicles. Not to mention that none of these vehicle have enough range to make my daily commute on a single charge.
