I find it helpful to add a disclaimer after my sarcastic posts, so that those who aren't so quick on the uptake can share in the joke.... Some people on here are pretty dull. Or just see what they want to see I guess.
The problem is that we vote on choices that are given to us. If politician A and politician B both will be corporate shills, there's not a lot that voting for one over the other will do.
So many people who put out that idea of "don't buy it if you don't like it" don't get this. Sure that works for luxury goods, but you just can't "vote with your wallet" if you're talking about the basic requirements of life and there's only one provider.
I suspect it's still a lot cheaper to buy a 1 TB hard drive than a 1 TB SSD (or 1024 GB SSD I suppose), if they even exist. But you do have a good point.
But you would have to let leaks slip through while you tried to track down the leaker. Yes, it is guaranteed to work, but I imagine any higher up in the government would freak if you said "well see you have to just let x number of leaks go so that you can find the person leaking".
You're right! A human can't be trusted. We need more software to look over the results of this software. (sarcasm, for those of you who have trouble getting sarcasm)
Um.... Yes I believe that people who get high security clearance have to go to meetings about it. I suspect a lot of other people do too. You seem to be confusing what parent said with "Bradly Manning was bad and shouldn't have leaked". From what I can tell parent said nothing of the sort, just that Manning knew what he was getting into. I too believe he knew what he was getting into. I hold no opinion on if it was right or not.
"Where were you for the last hour? You weren't at your desk. Oh you were? Then why was your computer off? It wasn't? So then what exactly were you doing that you didn't want us to see?"
Yeah I agree. People would create characters for the sole purpose of being a damage sink... Though since they would probably do very little damage (even for a tank) you could likely ignore them and concentrate on the more important targets.
I don't disagree with most of your points, but if someone stole my car, then someone stole the car from THEM, it's still stolen. Both people are at fault.
The president actually has very little authority to enact bills. He can of course sign the bill once congress has passed it. He can propose bills to congress. He cannot force congress to consider a bill.
To be fair, I don't think the editors themselves are participating in the discussion. They're more likely off writing the works of Shakespeare on typewriters.
Huh.. I never thought of Portal as a commentary on politics. (Replace government regulation with companion cube and you'll see what I mean).
But the cost of living is also lower. You have to take into account the rates of inflation the US has had since our own industrial revolution.

Only $10/month for a smartphone data fee? Or is this on top of paying for a data plan?
NaCL = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_chloride, ie table salt
They really don't seem to be doing anything except complain at each other.
Sounds to me like they're doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing...

We need wikileaks because the things that you see are only the tip of what is going on behind closed doors.

How would this have prevented the uprising in Libya?

Just saying...

The Guild Wars story was epic, one of the reasons I greatly enjoyed playing. That and it's a one time only cost. Can't wait for Guild Wars 2.
Technically it could, if they hired third party contractors to service the drones.... I don't know if that's likely but it is a possibility.

Being allowed to see something is not the same as being granted a license to use it.
Would be a rather frightening use of a botnet, wouldn't it?

Really? Don't they give 100% oxygen to some people in hospitals?
The Skype protocol should be easy enough to detect, and all they need to know is that Skype is in use, not the communication data.
