    No... We need to get our bio-diesel industry going full bore, convert all vehicles to use it, and get to where we import 0% oil from anywhere.

    And in the process allocate more arable land and fresh water for non-human consumption. You may not have noticed but fresh water is already starting to become a scarce commodity in the US.

    To leave China, you need an exit visa. This is also in contravention of UN declaration of human rights. Would you expect a trade embargo against the Chinese too?

    Its even worse in Saudi Arabia .. according to the great and powerful wikepedia Exit Visas are required by foreign workers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar

    .. Hence at the end of a foreign worker's employment period, the worker must secure clearance from his/her employer stating that the worker has satisfactorily fulfilled the terms of his/her employment contract or that the worker's services are no longer needed ..

    The firm that created this should be shamed (or hacked) out of existence.

    The trouble is that the Saudi government is an ally. And if you RTFA you'll see that it is an automated SMS generated when someone attempts to (legally) cross the border. Most likely a simple SMS gateway linked to a passport reader and a DB full of the phone numbers of male relatives - all which could be bought retail.

    This is the best of all of those solutions. Think about it .. it doesn't take any resources at all to implement, and in a generation or so Saudi Arabia will have totally cured itself of all those pesky upstart women!

    Reading the comments, it seems I'm the only one here who thinks this is awesome.

    I think that the difference is that other people are taking the line of thought that something more awesome than a weapons system like Iron Dome is not needing it in the first place, and that the increase of hostilities in the middle could have scary consequences.

    There was a huge problem with the Patriot system early on where the tracking computers lost so much accuracy even after only running continuously for 8 hours that the system would fail to intercept threats. The short term solution was to reboot the system at regular intervals.

    Think of the emails we've been seeing that employers have sent to their workers.

    I was in an Office Max yesterday and I caught a glimpse of an email/web page (not sure what) on one of their work computers that looked suspiciously like the company suggesting to the workers how the local ballot should be marked. It was full screen with large pictures of the candidates with green check marks against at least some names.

    Seems anti-antithetical for MS to host anything involving Linux... what's the catch?

    Well as per this article Microsoft is offering Linux on its Azure platform, so its quite reasonable for a major vendor of Linux services to want to be part of a Linux conference (and I had to stop myself from laughing out loud when I wrote that)

    I saw that there were multiple levels of dimness. But if I want to look out a dimmed window I'd wear sunglasses!
     
    However my conspiracy theory was more aimed at the cabin crew forcing the shades down prior to the impending doom of the aircraft in order to reduce panic.

    Have some consideration if 90% of the rest of the passengers are asleep, even if it is daytime outside.

    This boils down to "why my needs and desires trump your needs and desires". So who are you to pass judgement in your favour as opposed to your window seat neighbour?
