I am running xubuntu on a retina because I prefer the Linux environment. There are a lot of comfort points for me in linux that are not present in OSX. I like the terminals, the command line, the mouse handling, the cut/pasting better in linux. I like the easy free software availability. And there are a lot of pain points in OSX. Granted, sound is still a pain in linux even after all these years, but I like to live in linux better than OSX.
If OSX really wants to be a threat to linux, then they need to have apt or rpm repositories of pre-built open source software for OSX. That MIGHT make me think about booting OSX again. Maybe.
We deal with Propane, Methane, and other gasses which seem like they would carry a lot more energy and thus be more dangerous. Does hydrogen have a lower flashpoint or some other quality which makes it more dangerous? We can oderize the gas like the others. It seems like hydrogen would be the least dangerous gas. At least it burns cleanly and is not poisonous to breathe. Its light, so it would rise into the atmosphere away from people and property and not hang around near the ground. Is this all about that black and white movie? Because I saw a fire, not an explosion.
Perhaps somebody controls his connection to the internet. Then they post things in his name, but prevents him from reading them. Or they alter something he publishes, but he is prevented from seeing the alteration. People are all concerned about the NSA siphoning data off of the internet. But what happens when they can put/alter any data they want. Then they have total information control. And hell on earth begins....
You should be able to drive into a terminal and they pick up your car and put it on a flatbed train. That way, you sit in your own car, listen to your own music, pee in your own soda bottle, until the trip is over. Maybe they put an intercom on your window or maybe they just paste a cell phone number on your windshield for emergencies. Kind of like a ferry, but across the wastelands of suburbia.
this month. And the next month. And the month after that. They will continue to print until all our problems are solved. How does that saying go? : "May you live in interesting times".
People say, I am am beginning to agree, that voting for the incumbent office holder is throwing your vote away. If that is the case, then you only have two choices: The main party challenger or the third party challenger.
Therefore, voting for the third party is not throwing your vote away. Its voting for one of your only two options for not throwing your vote away.
They were at war too right? I mean, if the definition of right and wrong is determined by the lengths you are willing to go during a life and death crisis, then maybe thats the only kind of world you will ever have. Maybe right and wrong levels are best set in our best case world so thats the one we end up with. Rather than creating an environment best suited to battles of life and death.
There are caps to damages that can be sought in civil cases. Caps to the monies awarded. I think we need to look into prosecution caps: Rules that make it impossible to pile on charges in cases where no human was threatened or harmed and no property permanently damaged or destroyed.
Actions and their consequences should be clearly defined and predicable. To ask whether his mentors gifted him with an education in common sense, is to to imply that common sense would predict the the vindictiveness with which he was treated. I think people would argue that no one with common or any other kind of sense could have predicted the response he got. His death is not his fault and not the prosecutors fault. It is the fault of our society in not clearly delineating the consequences to be expected for actions and giving prosecutors more and more laws to pile on the charges until death seems the best alternative.
And the members of the house were supposed to be up for election every -2- years and be proportional to the number of constituents to make sure that power stayed squarely with the people. Somehow, both the length of a term got extended and the number of congressmen got capped which limited the power of the people.
Can't they put large spinning blades in front of the screens on the cooling pipes? Or use some other means like sonic demolition to destroy the critters before they get to the screens?
Religion teaches a bad habit that is useful to the Powerful: Leaving it to God to deliver justice in the afterlife. By telling the masses that God will hold the high and mighty to His justice in the afterlife, the masses allow themselves to keep getting stepped on. They think the bad guys have it coming to them after they die. Just imagine if the people demanded justice in this life? Heck, it would hardly be worth exploiting people anymore. Just an idle thought I had...
I have read that nuclear is not really net clean. That the mining and preparation of the nuclear fuel is quite carbon dirty. Not to mention the enormous costs of the structures and transportation of the fuel and whatever. The amount of money we have spent on Nuclear was a waste compared to much greater advances we could have made in solar to achieve the same output.
If a judge feels he was deliberately misled, then he could issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the person who misled him. He could put the man on the stand and compel his testimony. Apparently, the judges are only pissed enough to say they are pissed.
Instead they chose to stock D.C. from floor to ceiling with criminals and sociopaths. Somewhat understandable, as you would not want them home in your state. But still, on the whole, a bad move.
So you need to multiply the failure rate of the SSD by as many SSDs as it would take to equal the storage of the disc. Do you want the storage rate per arbitrary device size, or rate of failure per data stored?
It was not a regulatory problem, it was a gambling problem. There are not enough poor people in the world including children to account for the amount of money that was destroyed. The "we were giving the poor people loans" excuse is just a right wing talking point. And that would be clear if the current administration would bring charges against those responsible. But they can't or won't do that.

Thanks for the comments on this from the people who replied. Apparently, hydrogen is a pretty serious bastard. Good to know.
Their 3100 class printers have been very good to me.

"Special People". People would rather go through strip search than have to watch govt employees get special treatment.

"Craven: The word azure is a police intelligence term. It means the room is bugged or under some sort of electronic surveillance"
A perfect name for a cloud computing product.

Maybe they used a cookie for an email session that was already opened by the browser?
Until they get replaced by said killer robots. These things will be used to eliminate human jobs. Not just humans.
And have them roll on their superiors who often have powerful friends and/or "clean" public personae.
