Sir, we have all this data that we are storing forever, and we had a little extra time. So we wrote a program that collated the data (ie , shows they watched on netflix, sites they browsed, stuff they've said) we now have this list that we can call "interesting people". Great work son! I needed something to justify another datacenter and this just could be it!
It is enough to google. And the README.txt file is well known to people who delve into the settings for the nvidia drivers. I was being helpful. You are not. Did you answer his question thuroughly or at all? I thought not.
About these penetrations. You would think there would be daily broadcasts from anonymous or somebody indicating which systems have been hacked by the government. Its like people arent talking about it much at all.
Some kind of orbital strongbox that will act as the world's encryption key fob. Something that dodges around in an irregular orbit and explodes if anyone gets close to it.
If you are spending time messing with a system that is not going to provide you with a running computer after a quick trip to the store for a new hard drive, then maybe you should rethink your goals. And perhaps you would regret the time spent less if you knew that in the event of an emergency, your backup would not only save your data, but prevent a re-installation and updates and more updates and more updates, and hunting for installation media and typing in software keys. AIX had/has a nice system for backups: it created a bootable backup tape. Just turn the key, boot from the tape, say go and your machine was recovered completely. The closest I have see to that recently is clonezilla.
I am betting the berths for those tankers were not designed for water thats 20m higher than it is now. People shrug their shoulders and say, who cares if Marthas Vineyard drowns? But we do not have the infrastructure in place to keep anything working if the sea levels rise.
They are willing to give up their information (valuable) for the opportunity and convenience that the private companies offer. Its a trade they are willing to make. The people no longer value what the government does for them at all. They see lie after lie and the huge monumental expense those lies generate and they refuse to trade with the government on anything. Uncle Sam, nobody trusts or believes you anymore. Nobody.
Mars is trapped in its orbit and will remain there for the foreseeable future. It will still be there once we have developed the new energy solutions we need on this planet.
Then the computer goes crazy! and downloads hundreds of things you never explicitly asked for. Some are porn. Some are ads. Some are probably viruses. And some are more text to download more more more. 1 click = 100s of downloads.
We repeatedly hear that NSA is spying for industrial reasons. To give advantage to American companies. But the NYSE is full of foreign companies that are traded here. And those companies are in complex derivative markets. And the retirement portfolios of Americans. If its an truly international market now, but American companies are benefiting from the spying, then Americans are being hurt. Perhaps the difference is that foreign companies cannot contribute to politicians and political parties. Maybe that is the difference.
So a terrorist buys a hoodie from an online retailer. A big retailer. The big retailer. Then, the big retailer sends them an email verifying the transaction. Gosh!, that organization has a relationship with a suspected terrorist! Its a moral imperative to track all the other people this organization has emailed to see if they are bad guys too!
Guess what. They can justify reading every email in America.
Whats the matter, is it too difficult to send in a undercover cop and bust the bad ones? They have to ban them all? Extend that logic a bit and know horror.
Dont nail them for some arbitrary amount that will be isolated and written off by the accountants. Hit them where it really hurts them: deny them the right to compete in a market. That would be a real punishment for them. After all, they cheated. Let them be forced out of the game for a while. Then when they try to come back in, they will be so far behind they may actually have to offer some benefit to the consumer.
I guess the rich dont need to use the cafes. But hey, I bet they are pretty handy for someone who didn't grow up with a computer. No setup fees. Maybe a little free help. No big startup cost on a fixed income. A reason to get out of the house. If there is any state in the union that should have them, its flori-duh.

Its mind boggling. Hey! They have a whole lot of hotels in Florida. MOST of them will have a complimentary computers to use in an office setting. Are they going to ban those computers so they cannot be used in Internet gambling? That will make an impression. It will impress people that Florida is braindead.
What makes you think he isnt a long serving government operative?

THAT would be a real statement.

Or just a corporate media powered applause machine with no real people actually agreeing.

That was nicely done.

I have to wonder whether slashdot has been labeled a terrorist site. Is browsing/posting here getting people on a terrorist watchlist?
People are habituated to other venues by that point.
I guess its ok then to make sure there cant be one. Forever.
