No. He said that the end times were at hand. Not that he would die.
The rapture is extra biblical. It's not in the bible. At all. It's a modern invention.
Actually a lot of our problems are due to the epistles. It is his problem. Plus he's all powerful. Why does he allow evil? Why do I have to pay for someone else's sin? Where is the justice in that?
Doesn't nokia also sell big iron for telco backends and other non-phone related goods? Did they spin that part of the business off? Do they make razor thin margins on that line of business?
Expandable storage isn't going to hurt apple's bottom line one bit. I mean, apple already sells an sd card and USB host socket for the iPad. Not only that but Dropbox and other cloud storage APIs can be used across the system. That's not the problem. The problem is data presentation.
if you think that smacking wrists and telling people to play nice is mind control now, I can't even imagine what you were like as a kindergartener. Sheesh. Not everyone thinks life is a survival-of-the-assholeiest struggle where life and death are determined by how much of a jerk you can be online.
Unfortunately, those who DO are DOTA players. HON sure was fun to get yelled at over my ear piece because I'd never even heard of what a DOTA was before. it was kind of fun, but I had no interest in being verbally abused the entire time.
Because the machine failed to boot. If the GPU failed, it'd boot but no image on screen.
Which apple thusly correctly blamed on other parts of the logic board.
While Apple is technically correct here, the failure on Apple's part is customer satisfaction. They should've replaced the board. I think the Judge was right in categorizing any logic board failure as being within the scope of that replacement program too.
Apple's not evil, they're just dicks though. Evil would've been to deny the problem ever existed, or to replace affected machine owners with lower class machines, like some OEMs did.
The discussion here isn't whether or not the lawsuit was a bad idea, the discussion is whether or not the question itself was loaded and potentially out of line.
In light with his previous statements in the slides that showed up on Google's side, on the record I might add, it's clear he's a moron. However, his answer might have been *legally* a good idea at this phase in the game.
It's like a car wreck, really. I mean, maybe he shouldn't have metaphorically had run into the light pole but now that the damage is done, when the cop's asking him what happened, saying, "I don't know" sure beats getting an instant ticket.
OR a CEO on the stand being asked a question that's difficult to answer based on *purely* legal matters.
Is Java "open"? I don't even know if Oracle's lawyers know the specific answer to that question, because what is open? In a PURELY legal stand point, is open about source distribution? Is open about the licensing? Is it about the JDK APIs? What IS open?
that's a question Larry Ellison would've also tanked on too, I'd bet.
I don't think this lawsuit is going to be good for anyone but Apple.
Google might get a huge kick in the junk over Dalvik, Oracle might get a huge kick in the junk over whether or not Java is even an open platform or not, and the only ones who look to gain are Apple and maybe Microsoft.
China and Iran censor thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of websites on a frequent basis and cracks down on political dissidents, whereas all iTunes does is control what goes onto your iDevices.
Apple and Facebook haven't engaged in the anti-competitive behavior that Microsoft ACTIVELY engaged in in the 90's. Remember the Hitachi/BeOS fiasco? When has Apple actively tried to edge out Google or Palm or anyone out of the market using those kinds of licensing deals? Apple's not telling AT&T or Sprint or Verizon, "Hey, you're shipping iOS and iOS only; no Android handsets."
Yes, the patent lawsuits are bad, and stupid, but, they weren't completely with out merit either. It's not like Apple hasn't seen this happen before with Mac OS and Windows/Workbench/GEOS.
Similarly, Facebook isn't trying to edge out Google+ either. Facebook's playing nice with Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, LiveJournal, Instagram(err, before the buy out), and yes, even Google+.
Apple and Facebook are striking territory of their own and doing their own thing and making huge bucks off of it. If they had their way, forcibly removing their competition wouldn't be in their cards. It'd be making good stuff.
Libertarians are the enemy of history and rational thinking.
It takes a lot of balls to look at history and say that we need smaller Government and that's the only way it'll work. Or that somehow magically with out Government, big corporations won't be big anymore and money won't be an influence.
Yes, because we all know the cops will get RIGHT ON IT.
it took a LONG time to get Mabus, a cyberstalker/harasser who went after prominent atheists. And only because he was prominent.
If you're some person on the internet of little notoriety, good luck trying to get the authorities to do ANYTHING. It's not codependency if you're actively trying to get rid of this person out of your life.
Uh. Fractional reserve banking isn't why we have booms and busts. Periods of economic movement and slowdowns are why we have booms and busts. The reason why we can recover from booms and busts is because we can get credit and start over again.
Those who fail to understand history, are doomed to become libertarians.
There's so much wrong there I don't even know where to begin.
Find an encyclopedia, or some other relatively neutral source and figure out the history behind these agencies. They didn't spring up out of the blue.
Yes, the FCC shouldn't be censoring the word fuck or breasts off of TV, but, they shouldn't be a private organization either, like Paul suggests, and neither should the FAA.
The FDA saying, "prove your bullshit supplements do what you claim they do" shouldn't be a scourge on the supplement industry if their supplements ACTUALLY WORKED.

Actually even *building* the N9 was marketing. Marketing isn't just about the ads you see on TV or buses, it's what products even get out the chute.
If you're making crap no one wants, FIRE YOUR MARKETING DEPARTMENT.
Why did Jesus slap the fig tree?
Why was Jesus wrong about the end times prophecy? Clearly stated to happen in the apostles life time.
Why is Paul such a raving misogynist?
"Jesus had some good ideas, none of them new." - Al Franken
So you're saying that every other company in the consumer electronics biz has lousy marketing?
At some point it's gotta break for you apple haters. Apple is popular because they put out products people like. No more, no less.
If it was purely marketing, why hasn't anyone out done apple?
Given that now cause/effect are now uncertain...
are you sure about that? :)
Brad pitt's former role as Tyler Durden makes him suitable to play Hat Guy.
The only difference is head wear.
Sure beats their other potential name for it, Windows "I-Know-Kung-Fu!"

I agree, but not to the tune of 3.6 million dollars either, and I think the Judge understands that.
I hope UMaple appeals the ruling to try to reduce costs down.
I don't think the cloud is a fad. The cloud for consumers is a fad. But is Dropbox a fad? Facebook? Gawker?
Cloud Instances are a powerful tool on the back end. Telling the average consumer about cloud computing? Not so much.

I retract my previous statement. In Ellison's own words, Java is open and free for use WITH OUT ROYALTIES.
I expect Google to take this in a walk.

Obviously not a programmer. "if god wills it" sounds like me in college negotiating with my compiler.
jeez.

Thunderbolt used to be on USB 3.0. The USB consortium balked and apple came to the rescue with MDP
