That, my guess, would be problem #1 with these things.

Serious, how many people would be pulling-off in these things with their Archos Divx Players.

  2. This is a good thing... on Winamp Down for the Count · · Score: 1

Nullsoft was an awesome company. I use the word "WAS" because it "WAS" a company known for innovation. That is, until AOL bought them out. More significantly, until TIME WARNER / AOL bought them out.

Do you all remember GNUTELLA? Released online for 2 days before TIME WARNER shut them down (through AOL). I think that was a firm message to the NULLSOFT team that their heyday as innovators was over.

"WORK ON WINAMP" was the message they got, and we havent seen anything ground breaking from them since.

Im glad the front-line team has left the company. It means some very smart guys/girls are going to be out there, away from the umbrella of a major music label; hopefully free to "create" again.

    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.

Heres our PC/104 supplier. We also use a GPIB card from National instruments connected to an Agilent Data logger. Add a Modem Card, Video Card, and two DMM32 Data Aquisition cards. Plus the DMM16 thats already on-board.

The new Athena Processors have video on-board, and faster CPU's.

I believe Intel sued over teh Mach86 processor and they had to switch.

CPU boards usually have an intel clone processor MACH86 or VIA Athena.

So they can run any OS your desktop can.

We've used PC/104 computers (running QNX 4.25) for everythign from Remote power stations, Fuel cells, even UAV's.

that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard...
First of all, there are multiple ways to extract hydrogen from exisintg pollutants like methane from manure, or volatile organic compounds. Hydrogen is practically a renewable resource.

Also what you dont know is that in most implementations the H20 waste from Fuel Cells can be used to power turbines, or in a reforming process outside of the fuel cell cycle. Water waste doesnt mean liquid, fuel cells operate at high temperatures, in the case of SOFC's that operate at (+)800 degrees c there are many uses for the waste water by-product.

If I started a company, with a couple proffessor's that "certified" peopl ehad complete the courseware provided by MIT. Would that not hold standing with organizations as a degree. A person could complete the courses on their own time, and pay us to "mark" their work. If myself, and my collegues held the proper credentials, and were therefore a "trused" authority in the matter, I believe such credentials would have to hold some standing. Universities are very impersonal in most cases anyway. Why dont we just get rid of the "institution" as well.

  23. Heres What you Need to Listen Too... on Electronic Music 101? · · Score: 1

The Global Underground Series is the best collection of electronic music mixed by the worlds best DJ's.

There are also many internet radio stations that play electronic music. Proton Radio is one of the best places to listen to progressive house 24/7.

If you want to know the best place to listen to electronic music, its at a club. Go find a club near you, bring some friends, and enjoy. Good people good fun.

The worst part about electronicv music (techno, trance, breaks, progressive) is that its almost all produced on Vinyl so DJ's can spin the records during their sets. And sometimes even the best records are never fully distributed, they stay 'Promo' which means nepetism is the only way to get a copy.

Download DJ sets off the internet. The Essential Mix sets produced by Radio One (UK)(and world class DJ's) are the most freely available. As well as John Digweed's Kiss 100 radio show. They always provide tracklistings to their sets, so you can pick up the tunes you like later.

I specifically reccomend you find any Paul Oakenfold sets from 1999 - 2000. Everyone usually starts off there.
