42,000 properties, each with an unknown number of locks each, and they all need a firmware upgrade.

What have Assa Abloy done to get this firmware upgraded? Are they going to send technicians to every site to do the update for free? Or will they send out a carefully worded email that makes it sound like it's no big deal but if you are concerned you can pay for an upgrade?

  2. Something is very wrong here. Somehow these few apps and JPEG files account for 2GB of data. And Even after removing them, the base install is 10GB.

I can't help but feeling that they removed some rather important stuff like the registry editor, and left in all the Windows Store shovelware that no-one wants.

When will Microsoft learn that no-one wants the shit edition of Windows? They will either buy or pirate the proper version, just like with Windows 8 RT.

  3. The problem with flat designs is that it is much less fault tolerant. A crappy traditional UI is still workable because everything is very clearly marked. With flat designs it's easy to create something that confuses the user. The Material design guidelines go a long way to preventing that, but they are by no means foolproof.

The new Gmail seems okay though. It's obvious what is a button and what isn't. If the lack of contrast is too much for you try the light grey theme.

The same is true of updates for Android apps. You read about some great new feature but it takes two weeks to get to your phone. I understand why they do it, hell I do it, but I'd love an "I'm feeling lucky" override option.

That's the goal remember, listen to and watch everything everywhere all the time. No source too small or insignificant, just filter it all into the great database and let the AI run wild making connections.
