"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
I think that waht Ubuntu Mobile has to offer is the ability to become a PC when connected to o monitor. Right now no other mobile OS can make this. In a certain way, is exactly the opposite of Windows 8 (and Gnome 3 or even Unity): one interface for all devices, wich means a mobile interface for desktops. In this case, we have an interface for phones and tablets, but when it becomes a PC we have the full desktop interface. Ok, it's Unity and I don't like it, but I still find ti better than Metro.
Other point that I find interesting is that the apps can be made in html. If Firefox Os gains any traction at all it could means that both can share the same web apps, with no need to write the same code twice for different systems.
Ubuntu has something new to offer, but I don't know if is enough to gain any market share, even more because 2014 is too far away.
The problem is not they are trying to innovate, that is fine and needed, but they are trying to do it at the cost of what is old, familiar and functional when you could have both things. Just look at all the work with Cinnamon and MATE to have what we already had but lost without much reason.
With Gnome 4 they probably will remove the terminal. Why should we bother with another level of complexity?
The original list posted by LulzSec is divided in two parts. The first half has an assortment of emails from many domains. The second half contains emails of brazilians, most of them from hotmail and yahoo (many have.br at the end, or use brazilian names and words). Probably they compromised some windows live server? Looks live many of the are msn logins...
Crossing the Atlantic with a car would be very fun. =)
they don't need to reboot, they need to end it

That's the difference between manga and comics. Mangas, in general, have an ending, so you can write a coeherent and complex story wihout the necessity of adding tons of new characters to keep it running, kill and ressurect the protagonist 15 times, create tens of multiverses or reboot everything at each 10-15 years because everything is so full os contradictions. No only manga, but series like Sandman, Watchmen (and even Calin & Hobbes), have endings too. They only need to reboot because they don't know when to stop.
Yep, I think the network effect explains it. I am from Brazil and Orkut right now is losing space for Facebook. It makes sense because in terms of both interface and functionality Orkut sucks a lot. But in the beginning, back in 2004, it was the first social network to get some kind of recognition here. Facebook wasn't what it is today, and Friendster and Myspace never made success here also.
"Naked young girls. Nude young ladies. Female nudity. Au naturel, bare, bare-skinned, bare breasted, bared, barren, defenseless, denuded, disrobed, divested, exposed, helpless, in dishabille, leafless, natural, nude, open, peeled, raw, stark-naked, starkers, stripped, threadbare, unclad, unclothed, unconcealed, uncovered, undraped, undressed, unprotected, unveiled, vulnerable, in one's birthday suit, in the buff, in the raw, naked as a jaybird, without a stitch"
Yeah, you also have to work defenseless and helpless...

"Screaming frustration" in Unity means "Just Works".

Take off your T-shirt and give it to a friend. He will enter and stay in school with it. At the end of class, take it back outside the school.

Then try to play Skyrim on a tablet...

They will call the new OS Khomeinix.
I don't want to mod it, I want to play!
The bending gestures are really awkward. Touching a screen is a lot more practical than bending it.

I can see a lot of horror movie scenes where people are killed by infected french-kiss devices spinning with more than 2000 rpm. Creepy.
