Thailand? Cambodia? Philippines? Seriously????
Local rates of pay are around 800 USD per month are the average. There is no shortage of local talent. There are major language barriers. I've lived in Thailand for 20 years and I get asked the same question once a week by some hopeful who has come for a holiday and 'likes the lifestyle' (i.e. the women) Forget it unless you are sent on an ex-pat package by a company you are already working for, in which case it's great, but those postings are highly sort after.
In 1949, the Soviets tested their first atomic bomb, and they pushed the clock to 23:57. A year later, the US did the same – so the clock ticked on to 23:58.
Uh, I thought the US tested their first atomic bomb in 1945?
When you RTFA, try READING it:
"Since 1947, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists has used the face of this fictional clock to plot our race towards destruction. In 1949, the Soviets tested their first atomic bomb, and they pushed the clock to 23:57. Four years later, the US and Soviets both tested thermonuclear weapons and so the clock ticked on to 23:58."
Hint: the keyword is "thermonuclear", *NOT* "atomic".
Funny... I just blacklisted Experts-Exchange on my very first search... before I read this article/summary. Apparently I'm not alone in thinking it is the main scourge of the internet.:)
Not in the market for a 'sex change', so I need no advice from their experts.
I believe the parent is mistaking the constitution for the 'pledge of allegiance'
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
(of course the 'one nation under god' bit was added in 1954)
You can also read this article by Courtney Love explainin precisely how record contracts screw musicians very very badly.
Well she should know about screwing musicians badly.
Is this a conversation from a Dilbert strip, but without the punchline?
You could replace 'Parasites' with 'Politicians' and that would still be valid.

>Where will you be partying today?
My basement. Alone. Where else?
Piss on a towel, wrap it round your head. Basic desert survival technique.
Of course, it may get pretty smelly around there after a few days.

The guy asking this question is an academic, and as head of his group is probably tenured - he's not in danger of being sacked.
Tenure can be revoked for cause. Violating legal requirements (like HIPAA compliance) would fall under that.

actually their domain was 'expertsexchange.com' until they realised what a problem that would be :)
Possibly inside a large microwave oven?
"I hope the police don't catch us. They don't like it when you're rat arsed"
Same argument for Fire Fly. Did they change their minds? Nope.
