The Yahoo Web Directory was a great tool. as Yahoo went commercial the company deviated so far from it's roots that it became just another search engine plauged with fake news and celebrity gossip crap. So.. because of that Google became my web tool.
Google is becoming annoying. I'm hoping the Verizon / Yahoo deal falls through and somehow Yahoo regroups, finds it's roots and becomes the useful internet directory that it once was. Drop the dumb celebrity crap, drop the sponsored fake news..
If the founders of Yahoo were in charge, and they stayed with a technical focus rather than fake news and celebrity gossip I think Yahoo would still be a viable business today.

hey.. have your driven by your local shell station? WTF is with the Nitrogen enriched fuel they are selling? Big deal.. they are blowing air bubbles into fuel, this means you are buying less gasoline because the air bubble are taking up some volume.
When I buy gasoline I will but it minus the nitrogen enrichment. I'll let my engine aspirate on it's own.... if I want more I'll add a cold air induction system.. hmm. that might be a cool summer project:)

You posted this to slashdot because you know deep down this is wrong. So... say NO. Also you know that this product you are working on is getting hot, or a commercial entity wouldn't be interested. So... finish the code and post it everywhere on the net. Hire yourself out as a freelance consultant. Add the code to your portfolio and show it when you go on interviews. hey.. I got a Toshiba HD DVD player last year to hook up to my Samsung 32" 1080p HD TV.It worked great. The first HD DVD movie was Transformers. A few months after that Sony started to strong arm all the big players, Paramount, Viacom, etc. Even though HD DVD format disks were selling well they were forced to switch to Blueray. Well all I have got to say on behalf of all the Toshiba HD DVD player owners.. Up Yours Sony! The Toshiba HD DVD player does a great job on DVD upscaling. Granted it's not at 1080p but I can live with it.
That was the their first mistake. What were they thinking? You need a 3 highly available Unix clusters with three SANs. You need three to elect a quorum. If you don't know what a quorum is you shouldn't be attempting to design system that is supposed to deliver on a 5-nine SLA. Each geographic location should include 1 cluster and 1 SAN. All three locations networked with dark fiber. fiber routing should be set up so that a cluster can fail over to a SAN in another location. As far as Hardware is concerned, I would go with a cluster of IBM P6-570 and use an EMC Symmetrix DMX SAN at each site. Who the heck designed this?.Net trading platform.. I have to laugh! Microsoft.net = 5.none SLA!.Net is only good for people who would like to create a light duty website. Under a load it breaks. The London Stock Exchange proves my point.

I was very happy with the picture quality on my 1080p LCD HD TV. A few months later support for hddvd was dropped. Well, up yours sony! I refuse to buy a blueray. The HDDVD player upscales better then my old dvd player, granted it's not 1080p.. not even 720p, but I can live with it. I'm also going to attempt to encode a HD DVD mpeg2 stream (yeah that's what HDDVD uses) with my linux box and try to play it ack on my Toshiba HD-DVD player.
I had a hard time with the vanishing seat to his honda, and also with the testimony from his son that descibes to me his father carrying his wife's body rolled into a rug o the basement. Yet I was hoping that he was innocent and maybe his ex wife's former boyfriend did it. Well.. when the verdict was read he appeared guilty because it appeared that he said "I did it for the kids". well.. I'm sure now he sealed his fate. I bet the Russian mob will snuff him within a year.

Where abouts are thay located? Orleans? Turo? EVDO w/an external antenna works out there. I actually perfer the Cape Cod seashore to have no access because that's where I go for vacation and I don't want work to be able to reach me.
Your parents can split the cost of a dedicated line with neighbors. A dedicated line to a home in the middle and you share the signal with wifi.
This is cool! I've built smaller robots that utilize an digital compass and dead reckoning. This robotic sailboat however just blows my mind. I know a little about sailing, I'll be very interested in the algorithm they wrote to control the sails, create adaptive waypoints to make up for wind changes. After all, this is a sailboat. I'd be interested to see how well the bot tacks! Collision avoidance, I'd be interested to see how the radar hits are processed. This is an amazing undertaking. Good Luck!!
Here's what I did with my 200Watt Panel. I charged a 30Amp 12volt Battery. the panel was connected to a solar charger regulator. I designed a circuit years ago that will power an invertor from both the panels and the battery. This worked well. I used it to power my computers, back then this was a node on Fidonet. Internet connectivity was not even available for modem dialup then. I bought the panel used for $100.00. The panel lasted until I bought my house. bummer. My newphews were throwing a baseball around and the ball hit the panel. You do not need to connect to a grid. I was actually thinking about building a hybrid model. Using a combination of solar and grid power. Eventually building up enough solar capacity to get off the grid. Also buying used surplus panels can be a good deal sometimes. That's how I got a $500.00 panel for $100.00. the 200watt panel was putting out 190watts at full sun when I got it.
