  1. The problem. on What Makes a Good Design Document? · · Score: 2, Funny

Part of the issue is that these guys have written the design after 2 or more years exposure to the problem so they tend to forget just how much they know.

why? is the problem radioactive? Some sort of alien compound that causes forgetfulness? Sounds potentially preferable to some of the projects I've worked on.

THANK GOD! someone is finally protecting the nations truckers from adult content.. this is particularly good for all those underage truckers. We'll definately want to get those CB's filtered, as well as payphones, cellphones and conversations in diners. It might take a lot of work, but eventually we'll get everything clean clean clean.

Then we can start to work on preventing Male Trucker Lactation

Hmm.. and where does that end? Is it dishonest to not re-invent the wheel for your new automobile? This is a tricky area because outright copying of someone elses work without their permission is not right, but figuring out how someone else has solved a problem is kind of the way progress works.

  18. Morality in Government. on Anti-DMCA Petition in Canadian Parliament · · Score: 0, Troll

It is (IMHO) that it is immoral to take our money and then try to convince us that we can't use what we have purchased.

speaking of morality in government this is from the Ottawa Citizen:

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 300 employees and has the following statistics:

30 have been accused of spousal abuse.

9 have been arrested for fraud, 14 have been accused of writing bad cheques.

95 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses.

4 have done time for assault,

55 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit.

12 have been arrested on drug related charges.

16 are currently defendants in lawsuits.

62 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year.

Can you guess which organization this is?

It is the 301 MPs in the current Canadian Parliament.
