Doesn't our government exist to serve the general public?
Thats what I say too, but don't even bother trying to get your senator to help paint your house.. It turns out they only serve the general public in a very narrow sense, and they wont help even if you pay for the beer.
Originally a member of a maverick group of young filmmakers who were at odds with the thinking and methods of the major studios, he has now become the most financially successful director in history by marketing the ultimate popcorn fodder.
isn't this just the way it goes?
the counter-culture becomes the over-the-counter culture.
Maybe we could get those hinterland kids to produce Jar-Jar cups for taco bell, or Obiwan Bobble heads for your car..
How about a combinations of black and "gray" lists, where the gray lists are subjected to greater scrutiny or harsher limits by spam filtering software?
I know I'm poised to make a huge breakthrough, unfortunately I can never seem to make it over that last hurdle, which is, you know.. to make the actual breakthrough.
Conservative leaders say that Mr Mandelson, who was twice forced to resign from the Cabinet over allegations of sleaze, should learn the lessons of the past, demanding that he should be "totally open" and branding him "naive".
TWICE?! he was twice forced to resign over allegations of sleaze?! Wow, he either has vicious enemies or he's not so much on the up and up.
We extend protection retrospectively to dead authors, perhaps in the hope they will write from their tombs.
perhaps they arent writing because they don't have enough economic insentive on account of those filthy pirates? did you ever think of that you insensitive clod?
I've heard of ghost writers, but what about zombie writers?
well, clearly neither the tax on blank media nor lawsuits galore are doing a sufficient job of protecting the artists.. I think its time to pull out all the stops:
Encase the artists in a solid block of lucite and store them in a secure warehouse. Think about it. Lucite offers a good level of protection to recording artists like Bryan Adams, Celine Dion and Avril Levine, shielding them from pirates, pigeons and the corrosive effects of oxygen. Also Lucite is clear which means they can still be viewed and photographed, which I believe is their strongest skillset.
Now there are those that say "how will they record music when they are encased in a solid block of lucite?" Thats the beauty of this plan: They've already recorded their music. More of the same is simply redundant, and the world is spared the 'come-back' album where they croon the greatest hits of Frank Sinatra, but with a moog synth and a drum machine backing track.
I do believe this is the only plan that will really be a 100% effective way to protect the artists.
Picture the Love Boat with a timecard. Staff can make the three-mile voyage into town in their off hours by calling a water taxi. Or they can spend time shopping in the on-board duty-free shop.
..and golly! don't that just sound like a little slice of heaven? living at work, buying stuff from work... Just like the Love Boat you say? Sign me up!
"We are not interested in the game drivers and music drivers that are being added to the kernel."
..we want text, orange, perhaps green on a black background. We want large buzzing metal boxes that only we are allowed access to. We want to store our data on large spinning reels of magnetic tape, or better yet punch cards.
Which would be fine if Nikon Capture was any good. I've been very dissapointed with the direction they've been going for the last few releases.. You have to hop through more and more windows and dialog boxes to get even simple things done, never mind that it doesnt have any strong retouching/editing tools.
the only thing I use Nikon Capture for anymore is to control the camera to take shots, and even that has gotten less straight forward starting with Nikon Capture 3.
I agree - this is a bad move for Nikon, not Adobe.
I find that there are just not enough licenses out there, so I'm thrilled to hear there's a new one. Eventually there may even be more licenses than things to be licensed, and what then?
Yeah, or maybe this is just a way to get people to look at them.
"Dont look at this! This here! Right here, dont look at it!"
I know I wouldnt have looked if it werent for this story, and now I'm sorry I did.
.. Have people been turning to stone?

pretty dissapointing really.
Potential registrants who cannot speak or type Chinese can also register names via an on-line transliteration service provided at a modest fee.
.. Bite the wax tadpole anyone?
OK, who want a really rough translation of their domain names into chinese?

What about silver lists that block AOL cd's?
Is that where spammers go when they've been bad? AOL?
now if we could just seal the whole thing up in duct tape then we'd be done with the whole problem!
But what about the innocent users? havent they suffered enough? they're on AOL for gods sake.

Due to the shortage of blogs about blogs and blog related information! good idea!
THATS why I never throw anything away!
One day its going to pay off big!

Wait.. so I can search for a search that I've searched for before?!?
and perhaps others can search through the searches that I've searched? Will I be able to search their searches of my searches?
whoa. my brain just exploded.
for those illegal MP3s! He should have known!
there's no excuse for piracy!
Luckily it was insured against loss and Ameritrade will be recieving a check for $100 dollars!
oh HooRay!
I'd say it depends on capacity, but its value probably averages around a couple of hundred dollars.
certainly nothing to sneeze at!

Sharing is WRONG!!
Did you pay for any of them there google betas? cause I sure didn't, and if you did some varmint mighta ripped you off.
I also reckon you might want your database a tad bit more stable than you want your nifty little search engine doo-dad.
Asteroid 2004 MN4 was introduced earlier on Slashdot..
Great. This is just what nerds need to boost their image in the world.
"Oh.. that giant killer asteroid? I heard it was introduced by a nerd-news site."
