Sounds like they need to take a cue from Matt Blunt, who not only steals elections, but banned all video games, (which he calls "[an] often violent style of entertainment",) from Missouri's prisons because video games apparently make one socially retarded.
This is after the violent video games had been removed from the correctional facilities - a move similar to the modest steps taken by the SGAPP.
From a marketing perspective. The peripheral publicity and news coverage will be quite large, even if no one ever sees the guy's forehead. And they'll get the name recognition of being the "hip, edgy company" that tatooed (albeit temporarily) this guy's forehead.
I'm sure Golden Palace doesn't give half a damn whether anyone ever sees their grilled cheese - they bought their way in to an established Internet meme.
But wasn't stuff like this "out" in the mid 90's? ome on, are people still camwhoring and writing stuff on their hairy chests and pixelated boobs?
I could see myself buying one of these. It would be the perfect thing to have with me to help brave the cold. On my way to Starbucks. To get a real cup of coffee.
I think you missed something - if you search hard enough, Wired mag occasionally slips articles in-between the ads (I mean, the ones that aren't blatant ads themselves). I think they start on about p.55 or so.
Now we just need to be able to retro-fit our slacks' zippers with these things, so when that cute girl from accounting walks by in her miniskirt, we can still get up from behind our desks;)

Hopefully they can uncover why the aliens are shooting lasers at our pilots.
I suspect it's something along the lines of "Clear the air space! We've got to get us some red staters to anally probe."
