    A few remarks about this screenshot: :
    • this is too white : not easy on the eye nor on CRT screens
    • having a n explorer filling the screen with that few relevant info just denotes poor ergonomics
    • clickable items cannot be distinguished from non clickable items

    Basically, I think this is like the windows system settings : you either privilegiate front end services (GUI) or back end services (apache, etc) but you cannot do both because some would be optimized for reactivity, the others to handle the workload... like a ferrari and a truck... this doesn't work nor excel in the same way.

    Actually, I'd be an Apple Zealot in your terminology, but I install Debian on my servers because it's free, simple and it works.

    • otherwise, you can port wix to Linux, maybe this could be something that could decide MS to port some of their software... some kind of cheap test intended to evaluate how many Linuxian would use their products...

    I meant : here, we get a webmail access for each of our pop accounts which allows me to check my personal email while at work.

    BTW, isn't it a bit soon, in the US ?

    Hotmail sucks, and Yahoo isn't perfect.

    At least in Switzerland, and probably around, most ISP will offer a webmail service for free.

    Safari isn't.
    But now, whoever has his own server might not be interested in "yet another email service" because this is what gmail is about : it comes from Google, hence the "aaaaah" and "ooooh" of the Slashdot crowd but it doesn't exactly fill a gap... as seen from here...

    But why draw the line along national borders?
    because you pay taxes and solidarity fees within such borders.

    And, more poignantly, this saying seems to chime very well with the actions of company owners, don't you think?
    well, seems like they should act more as production-vectors than as selfish sharks...

    I agree with the above post, except that I have one reproach that'd mak me prefer a smart phone, next time I need a new PDA: The Zaurus doesn't sync with OSX!

    Using screenshots such as these might not help convince Windows Users to switch : I do not mean to troll but I think Nero is quite unequaled under Linux, unless I missed something (which is possible since I switched to OSX)...

    So, he means that there will be not design, production, maintenance or transport costs associated with hardware ?

    This is strange.

    But I somehow like the idea of the visually designable software, even if I do not think this will be a global model (I can accept the idea of visual oop but I have more problems imagining coding in visual-lisp or whatever...).
    This however illustrates tomorrow's clocksmiths a nice way.
    So, take the vision cautiously for what it is : a direction, not a replacement.

    Parent's right, it's too heavy for a PDA.
    Let's call this a CDA (Carriable Digital Assistant).

    I personally use a Samsung Digimax Battery to achieve around 11 hours uptime with my Zaurus which is definitely more portable than this.
