Hey, I didn't know this, as I stayed with 0.3 (it works without any problem for me and I don't have enough time to deinstall, update reinstall it...).:-)
Actually, as Phoenix is a cut-down version of Mozilla, it means we shall soon "type ahead" with it too. BTW, Mozilla is better for those who also want an integrated mailer, we're not discussing the very same app, here...
Most obvious is that usually spam is personalized, that is the recipient's mail address (or part of it) often appears either in the subject or in the body. So will this archive store every variant of every spam, or just a 'global' model ?
I guess this could be easy to implement some "almost identical" recognition filter but the problem would be that somebody forwarding a funny spam to somebody else (hey, haven't you kept your very first "herbal alternative to viagra spam" spam message in order to show it to somebody ?... ok, neither did I.) might be listed as a spammer so, there should be some re-occurrence filter to ensure that a given "spammer" doesn't send a given spam-model more than once to more than once recipients but here, once again, we may face some situation where everybody could be hurt by such restrictions. I personally consider the spam problem as overhyped as it doesn't take me more than 15 seconds a day to eliminate unwanted messages. I have more problem in real life with these advertisers who dump their pizza-prices in my mailbox but here, in Switzerland, every one pay for every garbage he dumps.
We will have such chips implanted into our brains in order to reason even quicker, then we will develop newer chip that will help design newer computers that will miniaturize themselves as new implants that will help us... etc. How far are we from learning kung fu from an optical disk ?:)
Apple is known as *the* creative people's platform, look at how many sound engineers use Logic or ProTools on Mac, enumerate Avid's video users, Photoshop's/MacOS hardcore DTP'ists... Now if they can't use some existing copyrighted work in private to flex their creative muscles, they won't be creative anymore...
(I wrote "is known as", it doesn't mean I actually endorse this vision)
Be honest, besides some hotmail addresses that I use to register to some news sites, I don't get that much spam, maybe 8 a day... I added some filters in Mozilla, since then, what I know falls in specific directories while potential spam falls in the inbox, making it quite easy to delete, unless it appears to be legitimate *or* interesting (I actually found one spam to be interesting...). Anyway, email is like telephone : you may still get wrong calls but it should not make me consider this medium as doomed... I have^H^Hd more issues regarding web popups or onLeave( window.open...) stuff (Thanks Mozilla, it won't happen much, now).
but if you haven't read the book, why do you care about the movie?
I just wanted to get a clue : why was ti so overhyped and so on. Actually I love the ambiences, the story is quite entertaining and I think the 2nd one (I saw it in switzerland yesterday night : we were around midnight, 300 adults in a movie theater:-) was better than the first. I for sure will go and watch the following when it's out:-) But I still don't want to read the book...
I guess there has been some moderation abuse over there, it rathers sounds like irony and if it desserved moderation at all, I'd rather give it a +1 funny than some moronic -1 flamebait...
I guess you should carefully re-read my message, I wasn't giving some assertion but rather some comparison. However established a law could be, it won't resist to the crowd's anger, be it in the US or wherever else.
so what does that mean in the sense of hardware, software, middleware and management impact?
OK, you have not actually told us what groupware your company runs (Lotus should be okay as IBM has worked upon it, for Exchange, you may take a look to Xandros).
Also, What typical activities are you performing ? Programming ? For which target ?
If this "just" consists of deploying yet-another-billing system, I guess it is still possible if you know how to interface the telecom switches using the GCC...
Now, for DTP purposes, you'll have a problem as Gimp doesn't support CYMK (well, it didn't the last time as checked) and Gyve or Killustrator are just too far from Adobe's products.
For web programming, this could do, except that I am not sure there is a GNU package aimed at replacing FlashMX... OK, still get Java, though.
No, please, be more explicit regarding what is to be done using Linux.
You can't fight an unlegal law by promoting its opposite : you'd end with tons of legal imbroglioes and each situation would be as messy as it could be... I suggest people contact their representatives to cancel the DMCA instead.
Yeah, what I meant is that the backdoor will hide itself but not eventual other backdoors residing in others trojanized programs... Thanks for your clarification, though:)
There was one in Hemos' comment too, I guess it is some kind of disguised advertising ;-)
They however forgot to advertise for MacOSX !
(Note to the mod, this *is* on-topic and this is humor.)
How the hell ?
Phoenix is not a BIOS but a damn sexy browser, do Phoenix X plan to sell a BIOS-based web browser ?

RT11, of course :-)
What if I deactivate ActiveX controls to avoid this one to be operated ?

Well you can still carry half more in your pocket now for less than 300 bucks now...
The nanodevices based in my bloodpath will know how to make my body eliminate the excessive kilogramms. :)

Sorry but I just don't get it :
You may reject my story which was as stupid as this one, which is your right, your site too.
But hyping some uninformational thing is just over my perception.
Why do you publish this if you don't care more than the others who didn't visit it ?
Are you sponsored by some [aspirin|paracetamol] company ?
BTW, my story was about that guy who wants to offer Bush a PS2 to pass his nerves on...
At least I found it funny, you dfidn't, but according to your comment, you didn't find this one either...

We'll Break Your Apps
Phew!
I first read We'll Break Your Ass !
I guess DVD rental prices will however increase...
I'd however appreciate to have such a burner at home, in case I want to send music to some recording label...

It was actually less than a year ago (Feb 8th 2002)...

There's also Photoplane who published similar works (taken from a motorized model plane) on GNUArt.net

apt-get is nice, but its not the solution to every problem
:)
:)
I didn't mean the opposite
I am a sysadmin and apt-get just helps me a lot by updating whatever I forget to update.
Now, of course, I have to monitor my servers, harden my config, etc.
But still, it is a wonderful tool that applies in the current situation
