Of course they can afford to sell those comps for $299.. i'm sure it wouldnt cost too much more than that for a complete celeron system if you were to buy it from someone else, or get your neighborhood computer geek to build it for you.. it just bothers me that people still pay an arm and leg for a bad internet provider, and a bad PC.. the motivation for searching for bargains has been lost.. i guess thats why people still use m$ windows.. commercialized innovation has gotten the best of the majority..

hahah man.. you guys are hilarious...and totally misunderstood the whole point... i pay a shit load of bills every month just so ya know... which is part of the reason i started this whole convo.

and if you are so retarded, that you don't agree with what humanely said, then we obviously know where you will eventually end up..

the world is built up of nothing but kings and queens that have tons of money and will always be rich, and the people that are poor, definitely stay poor for quite the majority of their life...

why would they even invent something like the opensource community if they didn't have some of the same thoughts as I do regarding this matter? obviously they have no capitalistic views if they want to give software away for free, and share knowledge with everyone in the world.. money only exists because of greed.. and our natural instinct to kill.. its just a simple way for us to slowly kill our fellow man..

its kind of the same thing when it comes the free music community.. the RIAA suing the pants off of teenagers who download music becuz they can't pay their huge salaries due to the small decrease in cd sales... stop downloading music if you support the idea of striving to make money.. becuz you're just like them..

my views are far from communist, but living a world based around more culture, art, and passion, is what we should be striving for.. money is nothing.. and it will only fuck us in the very end.. its pointless.. its hard to convince those who have already been corrupted..

its already happened in so many aspects.. money and music is just couple examples..

it may be a little off subject, but think about the fact that the artists that the majority of world listens to, are nothing but brainwashing TNA video stars.. and have no talent, or passion for what they are doing.. then they end up bragging about their gold plated faucet for their sinks when MTV cribs comes to their house.. they dont think about the millions of people that are dying, struggling, and the huge amounts of other world issues that are getting resolved thanks to greedy fuckin piece of shit bastards, like most of you..

we don't need it.. its just nature's way.. we grow up, and strive to be better than your fellow man.. go to college for the primary reason of graduating, getting a good job that pays you lots of money.. and for what??

its surely nothing passionate... how many people do you know who are passionate about their job? not many thats for sure.. they are passionate about that check they get at the end of the week.. life shouldnt be worrying about money all the time.. which 95% of the world does..

  8. hells bells on Who Needs Radio? · · Score: 1

I enjoy listening to the radio sometimes when I don't feel like listening to my cds at a certain time.. it'll usually be the oldies station cuz its fun to listen to those when you're high... and some of the talk radio shows like Mancow and Don & Mike are pretty funny.. those would be my only reasons for actually KEEPING radio..

and about the RIAA, it would be so fuckin easy to demolish them.. the Indie music scene has grown so much over the past 10 years, and the interest has a lot to do with that.. I mean its next to FREE to put your band online, and promote the hell out of it.. anybody could do it. and millions of people have access to your music or information about your band..

the only thing artists would be missing out on, if the RIAA was dead and gone, would be the financial backings for these bands.. bands are investments for the record labels.. and i will admit thats it definitely hard to accomplish anything as a band, or should I say "business" without a little help with a decent amount of cash, to get you moving..

if you hate the record industry for the common reasons, like we all do, but see my reasonings for why we might need them, then there's only one way to resolve the issue.. start a new online record label, that lets people download the music for free.. free band promotion.. kinda like mp3.com.. if the site was popular enough, they could easily make enough money from advertising, to fund the bands of their choice, and fund themselves as well..

AIM, E-mail, cd-burning, wordprocessing, IRC, whatever it may be, there's usually a piece of software written for the task you are looking to accomplish.. of course there arent very many "advanced" apps for all you crazy users out there, but i mean think about what the majority of internet users do when they connect? the basics...

and what better for those types of people, than a free OS thats easy as hell to install, and is pretty stable?? i'm glad they are still releasing new versions of the max edition.. when

i like a little change in my computing diet.. i enjoy dual booting linux and BeOS cuz it just gives me the opportunity to have a more dynamic computing experience.. something different.. for basic users..

and what i mean by that is, when a teacher talks about how "bad" or "wrong" it is to do something, we would go out and do it anyway.. atleast thats how it was with marijuana..

second of all, this RIAA shit has got to go.. jesus god people.. gimme a damn break.. a "starving artist" doesn't make money off their cd sales anyway.. we all know they make money from playing shows, or selling merchandise like tshirts and hats or whatever they have to offer.. just becuz some of the artists are too fuckin lazy, and want special imported portabello mushrooms on their pizza instead of regular ones, or bands that can't book their own shows, or get financial backing, are obviously the kind of people that don't work hard enough and are not passionate enough about what they are doing.. yet we all still care way too much to hear those "catchy riffs" and singalong chorus's, instead of worrying about music that actually takes talent to play, and doesn't warp your mind just by making the song catchy enough to the point where you just like it cuz of how many times you've heard it..

since when do all people in bands have to have huge houses and lots of cars?? so why keepin supporting them?? its like giving money to the queen of england for no apparent reason.. just becuz she is the queen.. and its required..

i will never be required to buy anything.. however i'll hear whatever the hell i want..

WHY THE HELL DOES ANYBODY NEED THE HELP OF RECORD LABELS???

a band is a business.. it should be your own business.. the labels control you, and can do whatever they want with your music...

  15. hmmm on SBC Fights RIAA Over DMCA Subpoenas · · Score: 2, Interesting

i think someone needs to start a community kind of like Mp3.com... where people can download music of all sorts, for free.. But it would be completely up to the artist if they wanted give away their music. and it would be the site maintainer's job to make these bands look appealing to the public. there's a whole world of music out there, yet most people are confined only to what they see on TV.. And that music is over commercialized and of course the record industry is going to sue people that are making their #1 money makers, start to loose cash flow. screw all that.. most music you see on tv sucks complete ass as it is.. you might as well take the time and motivation, to search for good bands that truly put their heart and soul into their music, and merely want people to LISTEN to it rather than worrying about how much money they are going off of the record. if you think otherwise, then this whole thing has turned into a Moral issue.. because the true artist is not out to make money.. Download, Distribute, Destroy is what most Anti-RIAA people say..

regardless if its stealing or not, you're supporting something that has no HEART if you agree with the actions of the RIAA.. and that alone describes what kind of person you are.. and those people that fit into this category always seem to be the same people that make this world a bad place in most capitalistic aspects.

but unfortunately we live in a society where money talks and bullshit walks..

  16. RIAA huh on SBC Fights RIAA Over DMCA Subpoenas · · Score: 2, Interesting

i'm a strong supporter of the free music community, and being a musician, and playing in a rock band, i'm totally against everything that the RIAA stands for to begin with.. its ridiculous to file lawsuits against teenagers for having downloaded music first of all.. There needs to be a GNU, but for Music.. Becuz just like the software industry, the source needs to be free! Open Music! bands make their money from playing huge shows, and selling merchandise like tshirts and stuff.. having their music heard worldwide, and for free, is something thats priceless.. i'd rather have billions of people hear my music, than only a couple that have the money, and the motivation, to go to the cd store to purchase it.. not saying that buying records isn't cool.. because it is.. and people should buy records to support cd stores, not a huge industry whose primary concern is capital and not passion...
