It's not so much abut Sony being required to provide PSN indefinitely as it is the arbitrary discrimination against those with the otherOS feature. They advertised otherOS + PSN, then they made it into a choice of one or the other. That's not the same as taking down PSN which they of course are entitled to do.
If someone bought a Toyota because they were promised access to the driving facility and then later they were excluded because of the battery in their version of said Toyota, then yes that's classic bait and switch. Think about all the salesmen saying "Hey! Your type of car isn't allowed anymore, but we've got a whole lot full of shiny new ones that still are!"
The last sentence was contradictory, but I agree with the first paragraph. If you can drink and not drive poorly then I say have at it, but realistically this is probably not going to be the case. I think what he was getting at was that there needs to be very harsh punishments for someone who shows impairment due to alcohol specifically.
I was thinking the same thing. A few of these aren't "trivial" without a calculator. It would be pretty impressive deduction for a 10th grader. In that problem, for instance, you can look at just the cents. 288 / 40 = 28.8 / 4 = 7.2, so take 0.2 and multiply it by 29 to get the cents (80). This is not obvious for someone of such a young age.
we need to go through the effort to amend the constitution to grant the government the authority to do that. If it really is that important then passing the amendment will happen. If it doesnt pass that means you either were proposing something that more people than you didn't want, or you need to spend more time convincing people that they want the government to do what you say they should do.
In this political climate, an amendment to the constitution in order to do something grand (for either side) would never pass (regardless of its importance).
I'm not sure why you think I was "offended by your browser choice". It makes you sound kind of prissy. I don't even use Chrome myself. I just thought you might not be aware of the privacy-friendly versions of chrome that exist since that was your stated reason for not using it (which implies that you didn't do the research for yourself).
I know you meant to be sarcastic, but it may still be true. Games and a competitor for Microsoft Office are the two things holding it back (along with a slick GUI that doesn't remind people of windows XP).
Also, it's not good enough if you're relegated to using wine. Things get complicated and buggy.
So I found this which indicates you're right about Bill Gates not saying it (and it was 640K) https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Bill_Gates , but I can't find anything on Steve Jobs related to that comment.
Don't you know that we have infinite reserves of oil in our own back yard? That bastard Obama just won't let us scoop it up; probably because he's evil and wants America to fail as some sort of Nigerian conspiracy. But we could be living like kings on $1 per gallon for thousands of years. Drill baby drill!
That's so not true. The golden goose has long escaped, and they've been complaining about it for some time. What they really need to do is stop trying to cling to what's already escaped them (control of their content) and start at least pretending like they themselves want to distribute their content in a new way. There's new revenue to be generated if only they'd embrace the technologies which *already* serve to distribute their content.
So your grades and SAT scores were pretty good even though you "just screwed around", and you did a lot of extracurricular programming projects on your own time. Still, you claim that you don't really see how you were qualified to get in.
Being overly humble is just as annoying as not being humble enough
Well, the thing about android is that you don't have to depend on the manufacturer for upgrades.
For unlocked phones, the Apple tax is most apparent. An iPhone 3G costs over 300 bucks on amazon, and I just got a Cliq XT for about half that. Compare the hardware for yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iphone_3g http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_Cliq
"Against our will they sell off our rivers, our wells, our lakes, and even the rain that falls upon us"

Define guaranteed. They were definitely advertised.

Actually I've reconsidered. This isn't very funny.
There is so absolutely little for the average customer to have gained from this
That's true. But to be fair, compare it to how much they were skimming off of each "transaction fee".

I'm too lazy to do the research for you, but Chrome is open source and there are forks that address the privacy issues.

The Sandy Bridge 2500K is still the best bang for the buck of any CPU anywhere.
A 200 dollar CPU is the best bang for the buck? I think this statement encompasses a lot of why Intel is is kicking AMD's ass.

- They emerged originally as a replacement for a national navy, keeping garbage from being dumped in Somali waters?
Irrelevant
- They generally let people go unharmed after receiving a ransom?
They kidnap innocent people at gunpoint for money. Fuck them.

Do you even think these people would even buy them if they couldn't pirate them?
That is the right question. The raw piracy numbers are irrelevant when you ignore this.
People need clothes though. Where else are you supposed to buy them?

Even worse, he still didn't give a shit after he got rich.
Yeah, more shots to kill, slower fire rates and more recoil. Ha.
Damn good link, but MS Paint still doesn't encourage you to save in that format. I hadn't even heard of it before this.
