The ghost train just sound louder because they are inside your head which is closer to your ears than corporeal trains which are typically several miles away.//
As an aside question, how difficult is it to change the MAC address of ethernet hardware? And does it matter anyway? Ie. can it not just be spoofed?
If the original question was legit, it may not matter since unless it was grabbed by joy riders the car will probably be sliced and diced and its parts scattered to the 4 winds. The laptop and cellphone will either be tossed or used for next week's headlines. (avoiding key phrases:) I hope:().
I was going to take a patent on sex, but after reading the US patent web site, info on what can be patented, especially patenting existing processes I have had second thoughts and now will be patenting: Sex in the Bahamas...It better in the Bahamas (Patent Pending).
He will once he gets Ron Popeal to do that late night infomercial on his book...
Look you not only only do get Chapters 1 through 5 but if you call right now we will throw in Chapter 6 for no extra cost: all for $19.80 or 10 easy monthly payments of $1.98.
I love gimicks, heck I am still waiting for Red Hat Cap!
...about my Windows partition and Learned to Love Linux.
In between school and my work (computers, on other platforms;) I play/learn/expand my knowledge of Linux, etc. I also started with Slackware, then RH and now Mandrake. I will probably try Gentoo, next when I can afford a few seconds of my time.
Mandrake is a great distribution for Newbies, just ask my teenage daughter who has stopped asking me when I was going to restore the XP partition on the home system. She is amazed at how fast it runs (at least Mozilla). She has even asked me to install Windowmaker on it so she can try some 'goth' theme. Who knew!
would be cool for mars to attempt a venus rover... They would obviously would not want to waste their limited resources by send a probe to such viral and life-ridden planet as Earth.//
Reading the FAQ on TC, I learned about the Palladium project (excuse me if I have been in parallel universe for the last few years, but...). The project was named after Palladium the god that protected the city of Troy. But if I recall my mythology, Palladium proved to be asleep at the wheel in not protecting the Trojans against the Trojan Horse attack (hey where I have I heard that phrase before ?!). The bottom line is that like DIVX, software protection, and anything else that can be thought up it will not prove to be unbreakable. I guess MS never heard about Godel's Completeness Theorem, maybe he should read the great book: Godel, Escher and Bach for a better understanding of this universe (now that I am back in:)
The list of products that were: 1) Not originally invented by Wintel... 2)...but crushed by their marketing programs are:
1) windows (not-TM) - invented not by MS nor Apple but Xerox
2) 32-bit microprocessor, not Intel but Motorola
3) Most of NT, not by MS but teams from Dec -> Compaq -> HP -> (?)
4) Multiple instruction processing and pipelining: not Intel (actually stolen from) DEC, they even had to "pay" restitution
5) Web browser: the death of Netscape, what more needs to be said.
6) Current battle lines:
OS: Linux vs MS Windows: MS "lost" this battle, (bad, bad Monopoly), and was ordered by the courts to give away software to our youth in schools to "prevent" this from happening again. If the judge had any brains he would have ordered to pay for installation of Linux and MacOS products.
Media Player: Real, Musicmatch, Apple, etc vs. MS Media Player: MS is "losing" this battle in Europe, but see the outcome for OS see if it really matters.
Ok let me stop writing, I am getting (more) depressed.
Get a cheap laptop, or computer. Get netZero, free 10 hours per month. Get a mobile phone with a built in modem (most vendor as giving them away for free if you just switch to their network) and get the cable for it, you really don't need the high speed 1x stuff, if you don't mind running at 19.2K baud.//

Getting back on track to the subject, what PG2 should do, if they have not done it yet and been snubbed is to offer a few cents for each sale as a donation to PG in exchange for the right to use the PG moniker. (spelling? Hey slatdot why not add a spellcheck button, we seem to really need it:)
Otherwise the community can threaten to write a script to do it (PG->PDF ebook) for free to compete with them, maybe at (say) freebies.PG2too.org web site.//
and I hence forth will stop using my brain since our minds are the ultimate tool for war.
On second thought...
the military using its brains...
that's an oximoron.
Never mind...
