I found it to be perplexing, still to this day no one is saying why (besides writing some books) he has been banned from the schools and teaching. Last time I checked we were still afforded the freedom of speech!!!

  2. Re:Hell hath NO fury on NC Man Fined For Using Vegetable Oil As Fuel · · Score: 0

I can't believe no one has brought this up yet, but ... I live in a rural area that has a lot of amish folks riding around in thier horse and buggy. They tear up the roads worse than any other form of transportation ... BY FAR! Yet they don't buy any fuel for those things and therefor don't pay any taxes to repair the roads. I don't see big brother telling them that they have to pay an extra tax on oats. Also the roads that are often traveled by the horse and buggies are repaired at a MUCH HIGHER rate than the roads less travelled by the buggies. For example, the main highway gets paved every 10 years or so, but the side road that the horse and buggy takes on a regular basis needs repaving or patching every 3 to 5 years.

  3. Exactly how is this going to affect OO? on First OpenOffice Virus, Not In the Wild · · Score: 0

Despite Sun's OpenOffice.org developer Malte Timmermann's claims to the contrary, this kind of embedded scripting attack represents a real threat to OpenOffice.org users. I don't understand how this could threaten OpenOffice.org, M$ has been allowing this for 20 years and look where they are. Do folks actually think that because some lame virus that depends on at least 2 other programs being installed to work, actually "represents a real threat"??

Nothing here, move along now ...
  4. I'm not complaining on The Microsoft Protection Racket · · Score: 0

I personally love the fact that Windows is so unsecure and so easy to hack/trojanize/etc. If they made a secure, bug-free operating system, there would be a ton of us support peeps out of a job. I support windows computers every day at work and use linux at home so i dont have to do the same thing when i get home. GAWD Life is good :)

Are you referring to Alek's Christmas Lights ? I'm NOT going to the Train Site because it too will turn out to be a hoax and at this point in my life i can't handle any more hoax shenanigans.

  6. Jail Him ??? on World's Biggest Hacker Held · · Score: 0

Not that this guy doesn't deserve to be punished, but shouldn't we be looking into ways to harness his knowledge and make those systems he hacked more secure. Just doesn't make alot of sense to put a computer hacker in jail for 70 years and waste all that good(or bad) talent. I'm sure there are Government agencies that could benefit from his Consulting Services. He can make "Restitution" by advising those who were hacked ...

    Just my 2 cents
