Or, you know, I could just continue using Windows where everything just works. I'm game to a little developing, I got 4 different MinGW toolchains for different purposes with a unix-like shell. At least I can play with those and not fuck with kernels and getting the hardware I paid good money for to work all the time and work more than just adequately.
Every time I try Linux, even recently, I spend more time trying to get everything to work than actually doing what I want to do. Wireless STILL didn't work. A driver was installed but it wouldn't find any networks. Wired LAN randomly didn't work, and for some reason was dependent upon for booting. Most of the time I end up having to compile a newer kernel to sort some things out. I could go on.
Eventually I give up because I'm tired of spending my entire time trying to get things to just work.
I went to Canada from Detroit using my EDL and others had passport cards and The Authorities didn't swipe anything, I could see them holding it up looking at them the whole time. Passport cards don't even have a mag stripe .
OS X is only designed to run on Apple brand PCs (also called "Macs" for short). You might get it to work on a non-Apple brand PC but don't ask them if you have trouble. $20 is nothing since they know you can only use it on the hardware you already paid out the wazoo for.
I wonder why people need to go 10-15 or more over the speed limit? Doesn't have to be an interstate, could be a rural highway (one lane) or any road. Most of the time they just get to a red light or stop sign faster.
I don't go more than 5 over, because there is no good reason to. I'm NOT sorry if that isn't good enough for the people behind me, either pass or mail me a check I can use for gas or legal fees.
That didn't sound right so I looked up it up. I would not have put it past Apple to require every single program be signed by them or as an approved developer to keep out "undesirables", however, that's not what's going on.

I'm all for sustainability but every attempt at 'going green' results in, or for whatever reason requires, immediate financial harm to everyone. Not talking about just a few cents more here or there in our energy costs.
That's a stupid feature. Just install the FB app and put a shortcut on your main/home screen. I have a FB account just 'cause everyone else does and to keep in touch w/ family, Facebook really is what some people live for.
Holy fuck, Slashdot keeps letting these fucking spam comments through. God damnit Slashdot, put a spam filter or something. In fact whenever I post as AC my comment may never be seen, but this shit gets through? Holy shit.
No. Regardless of how disposable you and manufacturers think electronics are, some people save and use their hard earned money to buy these things (as opposed to charging it and carrying a balance by only paying the minimum/interest or 0% financing gimmicks). Though, I think a mandatory warranty law just raises prices to cover replacement parts/repair, instead of actually increasing the product's build quality.
I used the warranty for a cheap mouse/kb from Logitech, and my G9x. I had an HP laptop with the overheating nvidia chipset that affected more than just me, it was repaired out of warranty but someone had to be sued first.
The U.S. economy would collapse for sure if everything didn't fail so easily and spending lowered, since all our stuff is made in China.
You can surely fit that sentence in 48-bits. Or help you send that message. Mandatory Access Controls wont prevent you from saying that either. In Biology we learned about the Membrane Attack Complex. Mid Air Collisions aren't very common.
Fry's puts a big sticker on the front for returned items with a new lower price. It usually isn't much lower than an unopened item, maybe a couple bucks lower.

Nor will applications that use kernel drivers that are only 32-bit.
... with all the profit from all the overpriced iDevices.
I can't even get cable or DSL. Stuck with 3G, $80 for just one line w/ mobile hotspot & 7GB of data.
Because someone is selling a product just as good if not better but for a lot cheaper.

Perhaps some states have passed their own FOI laws. But RIM is a company, not part of the government.
You missed quite a few $. MSN should be "M$N" after all since it stands for (The) Microsoft Network.
Go outside.
About 100 or so people pointed that out already.

I understand what you're saying, but gasoline apparently instantaneously retroactively costs more.

I have a hard drive, it can last indefinitely without doing all this nonsense to reduce wear.

It's not that complex, it's just a series of tubes.

They isolated plugins (incl Flash and Silverlight) from crashing the browser a long time ago. Version 3.6 or something.

It's obviously Fox's liberal agenda to separate the poor and their filth from the rich as physically far as possible.
