Lower energy density means either shorter battery life or heavier laptops.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. The article doesn't really make it clear how well the density compares.

Energy density isn't mass density. It might mean larger notebooks or lower battery life, but it doesn't inherently mean heavier batteries.

The article says that Lithium polimer is more flexible in form factor allowing more choices at design time, so it's not a total negative trade-off

(yeah that's right you also have that idiot system in which you call a bunch off illiterate people from the streets, that know nothing about justice, and get them decide if someone is innocent or guilty).

For the most part, I think that's an ignorant statement. Most states sign you up for possible jury duty if you either have a driver's licence or if you register to vote. It's not as if homeless bums are serving on juries.

On knowing nothing about justice, I have been in the smaller jury selection pools for state and federal courts and they go to great lengths to explain everything with pretty rigorous detail.

What you see in the media is when things go wrong. When things go right, you don't hear about it because it's not interesting.

I think that's a bit much. I would grant that if it's too good to be true, then it must be, especially with regard to free media like that.

A person can't spend their time researching everything. Do you read every EULA and every copyright notice? Most people have better things to do with their time. If a company has malicious software in their package, I think they must be held accountable for it. Kazaa had spyware in it and they went to great lengths to hide that fact.

Replacement batteries are cheap though, and despite popular impressions, it's not that hard to get into. I've popped open a first gen nano and two 4th gen iPods. I'd probably avoid the mini and the new nano though, I'm pretty sure those are a little harder to get into.

You aren't going to fix the biggest power draws, that would be the CPU and screen. The Pmax of a notebook hard drive is 2.5 W, typical power draw may be 1W. For a typical notebook, if you make a drive that doesn't take any power, I think you would increase battery life increase by maybe ten minutes.

I have not had a problem with hard drive noise. My notebooks hard drives are nearly silent if they make any noise audible to me at all. The CPU fans are a little louder, but still that's not very loud.

I think this damage mitigation is the basic idea. It's almost impossible to prevent a rupture, but should it rupture, you don't want gas to continually push through it. Gas often dissipates very quickly, but if it has a constant supply and happen to have a spark nearby, then it's asking for trouble that could have been avoided if you had shut-off valves.

Bittorrent files don't work that way, you get whatever bits are sent to you, and not in any particular order either. That also means having to have files on the drive, when I leave YouTube and close the browser, the files are generally gone.

Not only that, just about any digital camera is able to capture video that's better than what YouTube offers, the problem is that YouTube is using a fairly old codec. They can get better video with less bandwidth by switching to OnTo's latest codec.
