The plastic layer to the label side is something like 1mm thick, the laser side is 0.1mm thick. So the label side is safer.

Scratches on the laser side, on the other hand, are a different matter. The Blu-Ray group is requiring the use of a particular anti-scratch material that supposedly won't scratch with steel wool. It was used on the PSP face plate and some journalists reported the only way to scratch it was to take a knife and dig into it.

Don't discount the all-out performance of a Pentium M simply because it was designed for mobile use and consumes very little power. I've seen a few gaming benchmarks that showed the Pentium M can keep up with an Athlon 64 pretty well, the difference was no more than five percent. Side-by-side, few gamers would be able to tell the difference unless there was a meter saying what the FPS was.

You'll want to unmap that button in Expose' first. That's trivially easy in the Expose' control panel in System Preferences, just select the "do nothing" option. Then you can run USB Overdrive, which I think can do that sort of button mapping, another nifty bonus is that you gain more flexibility in your mouse speeds and accelerations.

I'm not convinced that the cost for bandwidth is that high, what is it, a dollar a gigabyte if you max out a carrier grade (T1 or higher) connection? At least that is what it runs for me on my T1. I do wonder about what it costs for those Linux ISO mirror sites that let anyone download multiple 700MB CD ISOs for free.

For those on asymetric connections (which is what DSL and cable connections are, at least in the US), bittorrent isn't going to work nearly as fast as a straight download, particularly for the cases where download speeds are 10x the upload speeds. For one, bitorrent enforces leach limit, and another, for TCP, when uploading a lot, supposedly the downstream gets throttled to the upstream bit rate.
