  1. Re:the way I see it on Boston Marathon Bomber Charged With Using 'Weapon of Mass Destruction' · · Score: 1

The boston bomber should be accused of using an explosive device to commit mass murder and mayhem.

So a Weapon of Mass Murder and Mayhem then? Is that really so different from destruction?

Your statements are not what most people would call justice. Most people take it very seriously to have to take someones life from them and are willing to give them all the chances they need at "appeals and extra bullshit".

I'm speculating here, but I think you would be surprised how few (if any) of the victims of this guy would actually want to pull the trigger on a firing squad to execute this man. They were marathon runners in Boston, not exactly blood thirsty revenge types.

Why would I want to watch this video about booth babes, when there are none in the video?

Yeah, I was thinking 1 Mbps too. I still stand that if the guy said "pretty fucking fast" he most likely was referring to higher speeds. If I was going to use an expletive to describe how fast a connection was (in a good way) it would definitely be over 1Mbps.

1MBps is faster, but still not exactly "pretty fucking fast".

I'm not sure if your username is referring to Alaska or not, but if it is, GCI in Anchorage has a minimum speed of 10Mbps now and a max of 50Mbps. It's fairly common to have fast speeds in major metro areas in the US. Rural areas, not so much.

To use a tired car analogy on Slashdot: This is like Ford and Chevy competing on features for their newest model trucks and saying that smaller passenger cars are the real opponent. Truck users and passenger car users are different markets with some overlap. This is the same as console gamers and mobile gamers. If someone needs to haul lumber to a location, they will need a truck. If someone wants to play an epic game with top notch sound and graphics, they will use a console. They might sell more passenger cars (mobile) than trucks (consoles), but they both still have their uses and market segments.

This isn't some Highlander dick waving contest where there can be only one gaming device. They all have their markets that they serve.

Am I the only one that very strongly hates that if I buy a new game from Gamestop and sell it back a month later, i'll get $10 back, but they'll gladly sell it to other people for $55. (woo, $5 cheaper). Gamestop provides absolutely no value to the gaming market with their used game money.

This is clearly a disconnect between the price you felt the game was worth and what GameStop feels it is worth. This is no different from a car dealer accepting a trade-in for below value and selling it for considerable more. If you want to hustle the game on craigslist, or wherever, you can get closer to that $55 dollars, but if you want to take the easy route and throw it to GameStop, you won't get as good a price.
