Bull. The variations of composition of honey are sufficient so as to cover HFCS. Guarantee there is honey out there that is within the specifications of the sugar composition of HFCS.

The fact is that is soon as you see a comment of the type "doesn't exist in nature" you can count on it being WRONG. Nature is far more diverse than the products of man.

  2. Hi Mr. DeadCatX2. How are you doing today? Did you bother to read any of the criticisms of the film I mentioned? Of course not.

And the article I linked to. Did you actually read it? Did you notice the references to the facts that the drilling companies have already been supplying composition data to state regulatory agencies for many years? Or did you skip over that quite revealing nugget of information. Or how about the comments that this composition information is ALREADY available on web sites of these regulatory agencies.

I have to wonder who is really for real here. I know I am. You, I have my doubts.

So do you drink OJ? They don't remove the enzymes from that. Or how about cheese, yogurt, soy, sprouts, raw veggies etc. etc.

Ever drink coffee after drinking fresh OJ? Notice the funny taste. That's because of the enzymes in the OJ have digested many of the taste buds on the surface of your tongue.

In Soviet Russia the food digests YOU.

But guess what - when that stuff hits your stomach bam the acid denatures the enzymes.

And who gives a rat's behind as to where the the sugar is adsorbed into the body? Do you really think it makes any difference to the cells that are bathed in it?

HFCS does exist in nature. It's called honey, which is a solution of sugars with nearly the exact same sugar composition as HFCS.

  5. Re:Evil stuff on High Fructose Corn Syrup To Get a Makeover · · Score: 1

So exactly why is this stuff so bad? Agave syrup is much higher in fructose, so that has got to horrible, right? Yet many people who won't touch HFCS swear by Agave. Then there is honey. Some composition, plus mold fungi and pollen that might make you sick. People seem to have no problem with that.

Fact is that HFCS isn't any worse than plain old sugar which is a dimer of the two saccharides in HFCS.

Now if you want to say that HFCS is bad because we get too many calories in our diets, then yes I'd agree with that. But the singling out of HFCS doesn't make sense.

  6. I encourage people interested in the issues here to go out and research BOTH sides of the issue. Watch Gasland. And then go read the criticisms of the information presented in the film.

Many of the claims like those made in the parent don't stand up to research.

For example the following discusses the trade secret issue:

Like hell we are seeing outbreaks of smallpox. That is a ludicrous statement.

The last natural case was 26 October 1977. The last public outbreak in Europe was in Yugoslavia, killed 135 people and caused a declaration of martial law and enforced quarantine of parts of that country.

In 1979 two people in England were exposed to a lab sample of the vaccine; one died. The director of the laboratory committed suicide immediately thereafter. The laboratory was decommissioned immediately thereafter.

If we had another outbreak the response to it would massive beyond any mistake. Think martial law, closed borders and grounding of all aircraft.

Donald Ainslie Henderson led the WHO program that finally achieved eradication.

Wrong. Vaccines provide individuals with variable levels of protection. What is important is the average level of immunity. By reducing the level of immunity by not vaccinating all the likelihood increases that any individual will be exposed. Even if that individual has been vaccinated there is a real chance that person will get the disease.

IMHO not vaccinating a child or advocating that children should not be vaccinated without a very sound medical reason should be a Class A Felony.

Any adult working a minimum wage job in the US qualifies for public assistance in a variety of ways. Employers who pay this wage are effectively being subsidized by the government.

There is no benefit to the US economy to have subsidized businesses operating in its economy. And subsidized low wage employees are a disincentive to capital investment to improve the productivity of workers, which is ultimately a drag on the economy.

China's low wages, effectively managed by excessively low Yuan valuation are a big disincentive to modernization there. Eventually I am sure that China will realize that mercantilism on the scale they are attempting won't work - you can't drag 1.3 billion people to modern consumer lifestyles by selling cheap light bulbs to a country with a population of 300 million.

We just don't need that many light bulbs.

And building an economic model based on sub min wage workers who are government subsidized so they won't starve is flat out stupid.
