Changing the price from a competitive one to a hugely disproportionate one when a product is sold out is a common practice on sites like Ebay and Amazon - and now presumably Bestbuy.
You see the products on these sites are subject to a 'best match' algorithim which is based on the amount of clicks the product . If the product listing is withdrawn (due to it being sold out or unavailable), it receives no clicks and is consequently demoted in ranking when it is relisted (as the automated system assumes that rival, similar products are more popular).
The longer it is unavailable, the further it is demoted. This can lead to a loss of premium visibility when it does come into stock, for the reasons given above.
It seems weird, but it is sometimes better to keep the item listed at a ridiculously prohibitive price, than to remove it from search (particularly if the item was popular when it was available) so that it does not lose its ranking when it comes back into stock. As previously mentioned, this practice happens a lot on eBay and Amazon.
Gotta love Firefox,
I leave tabs open as a reminder of stuff I gotta do (even hibernating my PC with them still open), and the last time and the last time I had to do a proper PC shut down Firefox asked, "Are you sure you want to close 108 tabs?" I didn't realise I had that many open.
There's no way any version of IE or Chrome could have coped with that quantity of open tabs. The CPU would have gone haywire. I guess it helps that I don't overload Firefox with lots of add-ons
The deeper question is why are religious people so scared by the theory that we might have just been randomly created? Perhaps the all-powerful-one(s) just wanted to see what would happen if they tossed a bunch of physics rules together and applied them to a bunch of particles... "Oooo, look! Life!" Does the random creation of life make it less meaningful? Ask that question to parents that had an unplanned pregnancy (you know who you are). They still value their children despite being unplanned and their children understand their parents love. (sorry, getting all sentimental now...need a moment)
So the point is: Grow up and stop being so self-defensive about being unplanned. You're still special and unique...just like everyone else.;)
My question is exactly the opposite: why do so many members of the scientific academia vehemently attack the "theory" that there is a God?
Why is one theory considered more inferior to the other?
Many people of faith testify that there is a God because they have a relationship with Him and have experienced His guidance and intervention in their lives.
Eminent world renowned neurosurgeon Ben Carson credits his entire success to God and has said in interviews that God has told him what to do during some intricate operation involving incisions to the brain.
Neurosurgeons the world over seek the advice of Ben Carson. I doubt any of them consider him to be a religious nutter/oddball/krank (take your pick). Yet Carson clearly believes in divine revelation.

I'm sure you are intelligent enough to know exactly what I mean; to wit I do not believe that man evolved from an amoeba - via apes - to Homo sapiens. Sure, scientific theories are unproven, but some are more credible than others - backed up by supporting evidence. There is more evidence in Creationism - as well as it making more sense.

It simply follows the old adage: 'bad company corrupts good morals'.

...can we see some excerpts of these "confused, aloof and unconvinced" responses? Censored enough to protect your identity of course....

In a debate with Richard Dawkins (Francis Collins and Daniel Dennett) he states: "I don't believe in evolution"

Ok....That should read, "I was never an ape.....or an amoeba, for that matter" Seriously, evolution is unproven.
Darwin's theory of evolution has got to be the longest running scientific joke!
