  1. No, he is objecting to the Code of Conduct saying one thing and then the organization engaging a group to fill internships in a manner that excludes certain races, genders, and/or sexual orientations.

    CoC: Don't discriminate.
Outreachy: We are going to discriminate in who is eligible to be an intern.

I have heard many people say "only people with power can be racist". In this case, who has the power? Outreachy has the power.

And, should a woman who is not victimized or harassed just leave and quit instead of playing the victim when a company has policies that are discriminatory and effect others?

  3. Basically, you are saying that the thread is using a straw man fallacy ( some other projects or incidents vs the one that is actually under discussion, LLVM)

  4. Brett Bigham:

Laura Conroy, a spokeswoman for the district, says the two cases are unrelated. She echoed criticism found in an Oct. 20, 2014, district-funded investigation that Bigham had let his Teacher of the Year status go to his head and led to too many absences.

  5. Except that is not what is happening. If it were about merit, it would be open to all with an anonymized evaluation process. Instead, internships are being offered not on merit but on gender, race, and sexual orientation:

You must meet one of the following criteria:

    • You live any where in the world and you identify as a woman (cis or trans), trans man, or genderqueer person (including genderfluid or genderfree).
    • You live in the United States or you are a U.S. national or permanent resident living aboard, AND you are a person of any gender who is Black/African American, Hispanic/Latin@, Native American/American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander
  6. Perhaps you should read what he wrote:

    An excerpt for you:

The community change I cannot take is how the social injustice movement has permeated it. When I joined llvm no one asked or cared about my religion or political view. We all seemed committed to just writing a good compiler framework.

Somewhat recently a code of conduct was adopted. It says that the community tries to welcome people of all "political belief". Except those whose political belief mean that they don't agree with the code of conduct. Since agreement is required to take part in the conferences, I am no longer able to attend.

The last drop was llvm associating itself with an organization that openly discriminates based on sex and ancestry (1,2). This goes directly against my ethical views and I think I must leave the project to not be associated with this.

  7. Seems to me he was upset about people prying into him:

I cannot take is how the social injustice movement has permeated it. When I joined llvm no one asked or cared about my religion or political view.

I don't want anyone interrogating me about my beliefs and views, so I don't blame him for leaving

  9. You did not answer the question asked.

Which male directors specially were selected in part because of their sex? Please elaborate.

  10. So, no, you can't name any who were selected based on their gender. You are just taking it on faith that it happened.

A primary indicator if the value of a degree is whether one can get a job in that industry. Someone who has a degree in psychology who becomes a teacher is considered underemployed.

But I bet you're one of those knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, Fox News/Daily Mail subscribers that think these people just fall out of trees.

Ah, there it is, the ad hominem so common in the leftist SJW community. It is rather ironic considering your sig:

No, it would not "solve the low skilled worker crisis". First of, the "crisis" you claim is due to an oversupply of low skilled workers. Most illegal aliens are low skilled workers. Most citizens and legal immigrants who are low skilled did poorly in school and should not be in university courses. Finally, assuming you could get all those low skilled workers to graduate from university, you end up with a glut of degree holders who can't find a job because the degrees they obtained will either be a) the easiest to get or b) the degrees themselves will be devalued because everyone has one.

You really didn't think this through, did you? That is rather obvious by what you spout at the end.

  24. First, it was the left's move to slowly shift from "illegal alien" to "undocumented immigrant" so that if someone is against illegal aliens, people on the left say he is against immigration, which is both a useful lie and a useful false conflation.

Then, someone who is 19 is "a teenager" who should be coddled and treated like a 13 year old if he commits a crime. Unless he commits an horrific crime, then he is an adult.

Now, people who are against sex work, mostly people on the right and the religious, have moved from "prostitution" to "sex trafficking" to falsely conflate prostitution with sex slavery so they can pass laws like this.

No one has any right to complain about this because this tactic is used by all sides to try to get what they want and now it is being used to stifle free speech.
