I can't use Edge for about 40% of the sites I use daily, they don't work well enough. I've tried, I was stuck on a PC once with now other browsers and no admin rights, shudder.
I know what you mean, we had to set some ground rules at my place. If either one of us was working less, they did more housework. I work 70 hours a week and my wife 55 hours a week, we do some each, she does more. If our positions were reversed then the proportions would reverse. If she didn't work, I'd expect her to do most and visa versa.
Well, I don't care who did it, I'll continue my policy of not using services that I pay for and have ads. Either it's free-with-ads or it's pay-with-no-ads. I'm voting with my wallet and yes I would pay more for no ads ever (for those who will say ads make it cheaper).
You shouldn't have to take the English classes. You've already passed high school, it you're at uni you should already be able to write essays. I had to do English and communication subjects where I learned basically nothing. I just wrote the three assessment essays required, got distinctions in both subjects and got on with my course. They could have been electives and I wouldn't have done them as I didn't need to do them. Waste of time and money.
Yes it's no less difficult, just different. My degree had a steep maths requirement which I struggled with, this not being a strong area for me. The annoying thing is I never used the advanced maths again after first year and not in my masters as I work in an area that doesn't use advanced maths. I now work with brilliant people who had to take the advanced maths two or three times to just pass and they don't need it either. I remember people who couldn't get it and dropped out, one had high distinctions in all his other subjects, but couldn't pass the maths requirements.
The author is correct, if you don't need to use advanced maths, then you shouldn't have to take them. They were a complete waste of time and money for me and made my life very stressful at the time. It's like requiring advanced French to be a doctor. If it's not necessary for your course/career, then it should be optional. You can make the argument that it's good for people to work through it, but some people are not good at some things and I have chosen not to work in those areas, so I shouldn't be forced to do them. I'm good at languages, that doesn't make me better at my job, I can also run fast and far, that doesn't matter either. I hate advanced maths, that doesn't matter either! I don't need it. It has never helped me.
Don't forget this happens to both sexes. I had three fellow students have this happen and they didn't come forward as no one would believe them. Campus security laughed at one for raising the issue.
Can they not have one engine that's "special" and can throttle down further, maybe at the cost of some peak power? Or have two "specials" for redundancy. I suppose it would depend on whether they need every bit of thrust on takeoff for that mission. They could maybe have the "special" version of the Falcon9 for non-max-power missions for easier landings, and only use the standard rig Falcon for the heavy launches?
Or even worse, you grow your traditional crop, the neighbor's GM crop's pollen contaminates it, you grow your next crop like always, and bam! The monsanto lawyers turn up and sue you for growing the GM crop without a license.
Or even worse, the same thing happens and you lose your organic certification and livelihood.
We are better off than 100 years ago, but are we better off than 50 years ago? I'm not better off than my dad was, I earn more sure, I work longer, with poorer job security, my wife has to work ful-ltime too, but I'd rather be a boomer! Life was and is setup for the boomers, they grew up in boom, had lots of good jobs always on offer, free education, super, pensions. Now it's still all for the boomers as they retire with their massive nesteggs, sell their massively appreciated houses and retire with all the money. Then we have to work longer and harder to support the aging population?!
Well get rid of exclusives! We don't need an exclusive "Australian" distributor anymore, it's digital, and you get put through to Mumbai anyway!
Now that we legally have Netflix here they have generally good shows, but due to stupid archaic licensing deals, many Netflix shows are on satellite TV here and not on the local Netflix. Bet those deals wont be renewed!
Carriers aren't responsible. Try suing a telco because terrorists used mobile phones.
Also, am I the only one disturbed that the judge sided with one side BEFORE the trial?!
That should be grounds for an instant judge-replacement and suspension pending investigation!
Am I the only one who instantly thought that RH has been sucked into the MS EEE vortex? I hope this isn't the Embrace step of the classic MS behavior. Actually, have there been ANY companies that have benefited long term from working with MS?
I'd love to test this. I will once the technology is more mature.
If it is just a fixed metabolism, then that sucks! You're supposed to be able to "change" your metabolism through diet and exercise, speed it up.
I hope it is the bugs, then a course of nasty antibiotics followed by inoculation with "good" inefficient skinny bugs will change it. It does look like it may be so, some of the preliminary studies show weight changes with no change in kilojoule intake, after changing the bacteria.
If this is true, then why hasn't my weight-gain-tendency changed after 12 years of only healthy food, exercise, being fit and healthy? Surely I should be "cured" of my fat-bugs and can now eat normally? No?
Not for me buddy, I am and have always been healthy, all the tests are great. I just put on fat really easily. I eat 5MJ a day and exercise hard. I will still put on fat if I cheat, even a little.

We don't bother. If edge renders it poorly, who cares? IE was important because they had such a large segment of the market back then.

Actually I'd really like to know what % are using VPN/proxy! before Netflix launched in Australia there were about 500,000 users!
Hopefully they won't renew the limiting contracts and will move to Netflix, especially if Netflix offers them more money!
Have you talked to your VPN provider? Mine had many variations to try, the third one got me back onto Netflix.

Late gen X here, the world was a LOT warmer and fuzzier for the boomers. Talk about entitlement....
Yes it is a horror! Working week should be down to 30 hours by now, not going up! We're more productive, sh why is working getting shittier?
+1 Funny
+1 Funny!

When I first read the FA, my first thought was that LEO and a few probes is all that LEO is all they seem to do now!

PSI is not metric.
He means days off on top of all the weekends!
