    Yesterday on NPR's Fresh Air, I listened to long-time Austin reporter Wayne Slater talk about his book (soon a movie) "Bush's Brain", about Karl Rove and the power behind the president. Rove is a master of dirty tricks, and damned proud of it. I see his hand at work.

    I also think Rove is behind the supposedly-unexpected appearance of demonstrators at Bush's appearances... listen to the Fresh Air interview with Slater, especially the part where he sets up a nearly identical disruption of his opponent's event in the early '70s.

    Let me get this straight - The W cronies got that woman who was involved in Governer Moonbeams presidential run to disrupt W at the RNC to help Bush out? WOW!!! Do you let the FAR FAR FAR Left NPR do ALL your thinking for you?

    All of your points can be answered by the following process -

    1. Type fake document in MS Word.

    2. Print out fake document on ANY printer you want.

    3. Photocopy and or fax multiple times until artifacts appear.

    4. Say, "Hey Dan Rather, I have a document that get the devil known as W".

    5. Have Dan say, "Well, I don't know who you are, but I'll run with it, as long as it gets that Devil W."

    Why is Stevie so fixated on FORCING people to buy a monitor with a Mac. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know - Buy a PowerMac. Well excuse me, but I'd rather NOT have to spend $2K to get a Mac without a monitor. Stevie loves his profit margins, but give me an F'n break already. It seesm taht he is simply afraid to sell computers.

    I already have like 5 monitors, I don't want another one!!!!!! Looks like it's upgrade time for my B&W instead of buying a new Mac. Until a cheaper headless MAc comes out Apple will never see above 4%

    That's the great thing about the human brain - It can hande the fact that the "green" nerve is now "yellow", red is blue, etc... It just takes time to work itself out.

    I doubt we'll see perfect transplants for a LONG time, but something that would "work" is not that far off.

    Galileo spacecraft was nuclear powered. The thinking was that we didn't want Galileo to suddenly succome to old age and then spew radiation all over as it crashed into Europa. On the other hand, the Huygens probe(I'm pretty sure) is not nuclear powered and will just simply run out of juice and freeze on Titan's surface.

    I love that fact that DIVX bombed. I remember their stupid commercials - Make sure you ask for DIVX instead of a regular DVD player. Bwahahahaha. I actualy like going into Circuit City becasue as soon as Mr. Slick E. Boy sales idiot asks me if I need help, I always ask him to show me the DIVX DVD players. Of course most are wet behind the ears and have no idea what I'm talking about. But I tell them to get ask the manager about it and to leave me alone.

    In case you hadn't noticed, there is no Virtual PC for the G5s. Since M$ bought out Connectix(spelling?) they have sat on their thumbs with getting VPC to run on the G5. Sure thye will claim that it takes time to switch all the underlying frameworks from G4 to G5. But come on now. With Demo models they've had close to 1.5 years now to get it working on the G5. I think they are afraid to release somthing that will work VERY well on the G5

    Exactly. I'm sure some tree huggers will claim it's sooooooo much better for the enviornment or some such crap. Like the exhaust isn't going to linger around and get pushed down to ground level when a slight wind blows or it rains. What garbage. Sure the valley gets flooded there, but I'd guess a bridge that is a lot lower to the ground would have fit the bill, and for a TON of $$$$$$$$ less.

    I'm sure there is no pressure to tweek these to get the desired "Imminent global calamity!!! make the US stop all commerce" outcome that is desired in this Anti-US world we live in today. I'm sure your dissertation's algorithms were fine, but once you start playing with the big boy politics where Meryl Strep has more pull in congress than actual scientists, then I have little faith in how accurate and reliable these algorithms are.

    Boo Fucking Hoo. How about giving humans at least a little credit and allow them to learn from their mistakes. It's impossible now to ge a new road built in the US becasue you have to do enviornemental impact studies for like 20 years first. Do you think the US governement will allow us to go to Mars to create a huge garbage dump? Maybe when there are sufficient numbers to hide what is going on, but not for a long time. This time around we aren't going just to say we were there. This time we have to look at things like creating consumables from the envionment that already exist there. And the consumables will be - oh no, my god!!!! water.

    Give me a break. If you feal so bad, why don't you simply kill yourself so that your exhaled carbon dioxide doesn't polute this planet anymore.

    Since you are an IAARP, maybe you could answer this. In this experiment, we are told to put the holes as close as possible to each other in a parallel fashion, presumably to fit within the beam of light form the laser pointer. But if you have a beam of light sufficiantly large enough, couldn't you space all 4 holes differently, and mutliple times to prove that this is really the result of the wave portion of the photon's interacting? Instead of coming up with a parallel universe to explain this phenomenon.

    Sorry, I know I worded that a little strangely.

    Now I know why I have no aptitude to do any kind of case mods -

    I used 2mm and 1mm thick Polystyrene plastic sheets. I got them in sizes of 2x1 metres from a local reseller and I use it to build accessories for my model planes and dioramas

    I'm not geeky enough ;)
