Every time I've had a problem with Ubuntu it's been because of bad RAM. Other than that installing Ubuntu is generally easier than Windows (NT/XP/2000).
Most people here use earbuds/phones but I have a nice pair of amplified Jensen speakers on the sides of my 21" Viewsonic CRTs. The cubicles here are large enough that I don't bother the person sitting closest to me.
You're out of your gourd. You are absolutley deluding yourself if you think that highschool aged kids "do not have the ability to empathize with the people around them" or that "They do not feel the pain of others". Apparently you went to school with a bunch of monsters, but your experience isn't the same as mine, or I'm sure many others.
I was merely pointing out that they have branched out into other products besides Windows & Office & if software patents aren't a legal construct, they have other ways of making money if forced to.
Heheh, no I've been trial & erroring various Linux distros for about 10 years now, slowly becoming somewhat familiar with it. When my Windows 2000 pc finally becomes completely outdated I'll be switching my main PC over to Linux. Probably (K)Ubuntu because I like the Distro & they seem to have the most helpful (I didn't say knowledgeable) forums to get support. If I can't virtualize Windows 2000 / AutoCAD on top of Linux , I'll just keep a separate, non-networked PC around to draft on. I've put doing this off for a good long while, but with the advent of Vista, I think it's about time.
Oddly enough, Microsoft has done nothing in the past 10 years but steadily push me towards Linux. I'm about one new hard drive & the time to actually set up my system to my liking away from it right now.
Some companies & the military will let you retire with a pension & insurance after 20 years of service. IBM & Bellsouth being 2 that I know of for sure.
If *no one* buys games that only run on Vista this won't be a problem. Also, there are so many 100's of good games that run fine on "older" operating systems that I haven't gotten around to playing yet, I don't see any reason to switch to the crap MS trying to push on me.
Then the company doesn't have a leg to stand-on. Even if they do have a NDA with them all it can prevent is him from stealing their technology &/or taking their customers. IANAL, etc, etc...
FFVII? 7? That was an awesome game & pretty damn revolutionary for it's time. FFVIII is where they lost me...

Putting the kinks in?
We can have speakers. :D

For most people using Ubuntu is all the reason they need to be pro-Ubuntu.
This works pretty much the same with DVDs & co-workers.

Are you in need of corrective lenses?

Yeah, now. Maybe. It damn sure wouldn't work in 1997.
I love it when the "thinkofthechildern" argument is used to screw the "Man". You know, instead of screwing the rest of us like it usually does.
Ditto.
Ok, Windows... check, Office... check.
What about games? They don't make any money from games? Hardware?
That would have probably happened if I wasn't using AutoCAD / MS Office @ work & home back then as well.
Great men generally think differently than others. That's what makes them great.

Since when?

I don't think that model is failing, but it will be eventually relegated to legacy & niche software. And games. Don't forget games.
So MS is now short for MegaSCO?

I don't know how it works over in Germany, but over here pissing of most of your younger generation seems to be political suicide.
You sound like a shill, but I'll bite.

Hey, look, it's Ignignot!

Is Texas a right-to-work state like Florida?
