    That may well be, but I much prefer using ESRI products over *any* of the following:

    MapInfo
    GRASS
    GE Smallworld
    Spatial.NET
    OptiLite / OptiNT
    Anything at all based on Microstation / Bentley.

    But what do I know, I've only had to use this crap in production environments since 1998. As for a monopoly, far, far more of my customers use MapInfo than ESRI or anything else on that list.

    Such transitions have been slow, but now we have sparkling vampires made of stone.

    I know you are talking about Twilight, but if I recall correctly, in Anne Rice's Vampire novels, the really, really old vampires looked like (& were as hard as) alabaster statues until they moved.

    The edges of a "kettle" would be the absolute best place for a suicide bomber to strike. You'd get to kill a ton of tightly packed innocents & as a bonus, eradicate quite a few LEOs at the same time.

    I recently bought a 2013 Impreza with a CV transmission. This car actually exceeds the manufacturer's MPG rating if you let the cruise control do the driving for you. I've hit 49mpg on long stretches of road.

    If the Steam platform (*not CEG*) is DRM then that makes the package manager for any given Linux distro DRM as well.

    The bigger problem it has is that its controller, from what I've read, feels "mushy" and suffers from high latency. That's an actual problem.

    Are you talking about the Dev consoles or the ones that are actually shipping to regular backers?

    I dare say that's exactly the point. Why do you think brick-and-mortars are so happy about it?

    They probably won't be for long. Actually, they probably just legislated their own death certificate. Amazon's next plan is to put warehouses in major metro areas & provide same day or one day delivery. Residents with a PC (or smartphone) & a bank account will never have to drive to a "big-box" store ever again if they don't want to.
