I'm a part-timer for Apple and done a few table-tops for them here and there. It's already old news that there's a love-hate relation with the new iMac, so just lay-it-off already. if you don't like it, feel free to use the money you saved to buy a few dozen of those hello-kitty dildos/vibrators instead. As for accessories, other than a good 4.1/5.1 soundcard and a good TV card, most of the other parts are easy to find.
I shipped a monitor with insurance, and after trashing the $400 monitor, which was sent back from factory due to the damage done by UPS, they sent out an "inspector" and told me to go fuck myself 'cuz there wasn't sufficient packaging! There goes $450 down the drain...and i will never ship anything via UPS again unless I have no choice...
there is a difference between something being installed on a demo machine at Macworld and released. Jobs even demoed on a "X.1 machine", doesn't mean it'll be released for another 2 months...I can get the GM a week ago, that doesn't mean much...I'm talking about an official release, one I can download through regular channels, legally.
While everyone's looking forward to X.1 or complaining about how late it is, there's been absolutely no mentioning of 9.2/9.5...given how bloated the current version of OS9.1 is, Apple promised 9.2 to be slightly slimer and much better integerated with OSX. Last I check, it went GM a week ago, but nothing since...are they holding it back 'til X.1? *sigh* and there's also 9.5, the last none-X OS...suppose to be a stripped down version of 9.1 with possibly some kind of shell for protected memory...That's the OS I'd like to be running in the forseeable future instead of this X crap with few application support and sluggish performance thus far...
Don't know what you are smoking, but unless earth has suddenly became a star glowing at however much degrees, buring all of us to a crisp, the orbit of the moon isn't independent around the sun...
yeah, but what if you don't watch 'til the very end of the show? It should be something like setting up a motion sensor in the TV itself, and anytime you make major movements during the course of your TV watching (ie stand up, or if you are disabled, moving your chair), then turn on the MIB flash. But then, what if you were transported out of the room or blind to begin with? hmm....
Didn't you just say average salary estimate to be $12/hr? shouldn't that be 65,000,000 * 12 instead of 10? and if I can count (hopefully, that's true), your resulted turned out to be $650 million, not 65 million...
Oh yeah, last I heard, average national salary is $13.75ish, so using that number, the result comes to...$893.75 million
Of course given that Bill Gates is worht around $60 billion, he can afford to pay all the companies in CA for their losses for a while...'til his dead anyway...unless he lives as long as Mr. Burns...
yeah, yeah, so the stupid geeks flame all anime related stuff...
But at this rate, Masamune's fictional story portrayed in Ghost in the Shell may not be so fictional much longer...
flame away...
I guess between the time this article was first posted online 'til when ackthpt posted his comments, 9 new apps that we don't know 'bout were created...that seems kinda slow though...oh well...
um, shouldn't it be Fan Qie? where did the Jia came from? a more common name for tomato is Xi Hong Shi...
Also, keep in mind that regardless of which dialect of Chinese you speak, its all qualified as Chinese because of grammar. That means the written text you see online are the same for Mandarin and Cantonese, at least in formal writing. Thus the count provided isn't acurrate.
My Chem 1 prof at Caltech has been working on an artificial nose for a while now, using different chemical reactions or something...and it's almost done (I think)...I heard he's a little bitter that he haven't gotten the Nobel price though...
You gotta admit, the opening line "present day, present time, hahahaha..." is pretty funny, and quite possibly the best part of the series! Lain is much overrated. Although its the only anime DVD I bought, it was more 'cuz it appealed to my mac-geek side, and liked the intro/ending song. The story was too ambiguous and it doesn't come close to Evangelion when it comes to being profound. Gainax and Studio Ghibli's works are much better. As far as 13 eps OAV is concerned, Record Of the Lodoss Wars was better.
pattern differs from formula, but I've long heard there being an extemely complex formula that can be used to find prime numbers...otherwise, the estimation of n(log(n)) (or is it ln?) is a crude estimation that gets closer and closer to the value of the nth prime number as n approaches infinity.
As far as I understand, the biggest issue is concerning patent rights. If the product is publiicized prior to release, it cannot be patented...I vaguely remember reading something on that...I guess it means that Apple is sueing for patent damages...
They sued someone by the name of Worker Bee, and subpoena'd to Yahoo to identify the IP of a user who created a Geocities site that hosted the images.
Here's an URL of what was posted at the AppleInsider forum back in Feb. 13th...
You can blame Lockheed Martin for that. As for the other crash...I'm ashamed to say, but it was the fault of JPL...even the employees admit it internally. (I hear stuff...since Caltech and JPL are so closely related)

what about preventing morons like Intel to copyright that "II" in Pentium II? That'd be as useful...
yep, one stupid geek discovered. ;)

how is this different from the original oil drop experiement done by Milikan?
Isn't there a matter of genetic degradation? also, no genetic variation can be a major problem when it comes to their survival...

hehe, I remember reading something about Apple having very strict rules when it comes to the usage of the Apple Logo. (color, size, location, etc...)

and all this time, I thought Galeon was the evil sorcer from Lunar: Silver Star Story...
