"capiltalism is not good anymore and the people are more important (dare I say socialism?) "
Socialism never works. Take a look at Venezula.
Crony capitalism is not capitalism. In the 18th C crony capitalism was called mercantilism. Laissez faire (which is not equal to caveat emptor) rose in opposition to mercantilism. Every proponent of the free-market has been against the merging of govt and business (you know all the "good" things that government does) because government involvement inevitably leads to crony capitalism / mercantilism. Everyone from Menger to von Mises to Hayek to Ayn Rand argued for small government because otherwise you get to crony capitalism.
Good. Glad to see you are for individual freedom and divorcing ourselves from dependence on the state. There are many Americans who are not hypocrites about such matters. Look at the revolt going on against Paul Ryan in Wisconsin.
That would be true in parts of NYC as well. But go less than a hour away from midtown and the price of real estate drops considerably. You can find 2 family houses for less than $300,000 and 3 family for less than $500,000.
Be willing to work weekends fixing up your house and in a few years you too can be calling a fu(king rich pr!ck by self-important a$$holes.
Ok.Let's agree that buying oil from the Saudis is the root cause. Then you're for any and all solutions from renewables to fracking to off-shore drilling that reduces, if not eliminates our buying of middle eastern oil.
Is there a middle ground between changing behavior and considering him to be a crackpot?
Best is to come up with an agreed upon style. It's like driving on the right-side or left-side of the road. There is no objective "better" but it helps if we all drive in the same way.
Re comments: pick a standard and go with it. It makes things easier to scan and legibility counts.
WTF. Justin Amash is one of the few members of congress whose words and action match up. He is for limited, constitutional government. He presented himself that way to his constituents and has voted that way.
And, in case it matters, he's Eastern Orthodox. (As your post seemed to imply that he was Muslim and therefore pro-violence.)
It's true that one of the main objections to his voyage was that he underestimated the circumference of the earth (not that he would fall off the edge).
Still. He wasn't lost. The try was worthy. And sailing across the ocean blue took much more than balls. It took brains as well. Notice how few sea faring nations took to the deep ocean over the millennia. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Arabs rarely went out of site of land. Most of the early European explorers rarely left shore for more than a few days.
And what was wrong with his motivation - trading with India? He's going to risk his life for what? Pokemon? Tesla (both the inventor and the company) were motivated by money (trading). Fulton was motivated by money. James Watt was motivated by money. Louis Pasteur was motivated by money,
By your reckoning then all explorers are lost. Anybody that explores outside our galaxy is, by your definition, lost. Columbus had the idea to go west and not east to reach India. That took balls as well as brains. Take a look at a map. Columbus had the latitude correct. What was very wrong was the longitude.
I guess you don't realize the some Republicans want small government and some don't. The Tea Party was trying to vote out of office those people who gave lip service to privacy and smaller government. Now - if you're a Democrat / Progress and you want less government intrusion how about NOT voting for Hillary Clinton. Not voting for Nancy Pelosi. Not voting for Harry Reid.
Find your version of a Justin Amash and vote him in.
I guess you didn't know (or care) that the Liberty Caucus and Justin Amash are Republicans and they are trying to stop the bill. If you're for less government spying then there are many Republicans to root for.
Just looked it up. Lister and Pasteur weren't yet born 200 years ago.
Still my objection was to the point that we're healthier as a result of not working with asbestos etc. and that more people are eating organic foods. People 200 years ago ate "organic," "natural" food and didn't live healthier lives - so there is much more involved than simply eating "organic."
No. Not at all. The phrase "3 score and 10" goes back to the OT.
People died from childhood diseases and famines.People who lived into their 40s (ie men who survived war and women who survived child birth) tended to live into their 70s.
Really 200 years ago they had lead in the petrol and ate food with additives? WTF
Food additives and lead in petrol really only started after WW! (and for the most part after WWII). That's a very narrow window of exposure and is not the standard for examining human life.
Most of the time 3rd party ideals have been co-opted by the major parties. (Gay rights and drug legalization have been party of the libertarian party platform since it started.)
If you're correct then we have only two possible futures - a repressive government or a devastating civil war (which may very well lead to a repressive government). Our system of government does allow for change. All you need to do is to vote for the 3rd party candidate.
If 3rd parties get a combined 10%, 20%, 30% or more of the vote don't you think that people would take notice?
Part of the reason Trump has done so well is because he is a middle finger to politicians who promise one thing and then renege on it. (Saying vote for me again to get "x" passed.) Now I think that Trump is a con man but that's another story.
If you were correct Trump would not have won the Republican nomination. The establishment hates him, the social conservatives don't like him either. He brought new voters out of the woodwork and swamped the establishment candidates until it was only two outsiders left (Cruz and himself). Trump is so disliked that the establishment started backing Cruz!!!!
No. It's not too late to get change via the ballot box.
Yes. We will have to suffer either Trump or Hillary but let's get the ball rolling on killing the two party system. Vote 3rd Party. The only advantage of a President Trump is that Congress (both Republican and Democrat) would not be on his side and the press will act like watch dogs instead of lapdogs (as they would with Hillary).
I'm #NeverTrump and #NeverHillary - Vote 3rd Party in 2016
I've driven in many countries around the world including France, England, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Hong Kong, China, Senegal, Grenada, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada and I did not notice a qualitative difference between the US and elsewhere.
However one often times you find a marked difference between states (say driving on I-91 between Vermont (great) and Massachusetts (less than great).
This has nothing to do with unfettered capitalism. Learn. Read. Stop parroting nonsense.

Well that's a load of sh!t. The home ownership rate has been over 60% for generations. A quick google search shows 60%+ since 1960.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
If you want to be taken seriously don't make sh!t up.
Ok.Let's agree that buying oil from the Saudis is the root cause. Then you're for any and all solutions from renewables to fracking to off-shore drilling that reduces, if not eliminates our buying of middle eastern oil.
Which is why society is spending itself to oblivion in social programs? Or maybe you're full of sh!t
I think the quote is "There are simply too many notes" "Just cut a few and it'll be perfect."

And how much did Google spend on infrastructure, salaries, etc? (I'm not a Google fan - in fact I'm a DuckDuckGo user)
Revenue is not profit. Revenue == Sales.

Your snarkiness really makes you look bad.

Except he wasn't lost. Nimrod.
go peddle your brain-dead sh!t elsewhere.
lol. true that.

How do you explain Trump? The Republican establishment did their best to get rid of him.
Did colin powell have a private email server? I thought he sent emails on a private account?

Which is why we need to curtail the power of government. Hmmm. A return to limited government anyone?
Nah. That's only for whacky libertarians.
You want to keep growing government? Vote for Hillary or Trump.
You want to start to turn things around? Vote Third Party in 2016
Then don't vote for evil. Vote 3rd Party.
Yes. We will have to suffer either Trump or Hillary but let's get the ball rolling on killing the two party system. Vote 3rd Party.
